A while back, I covered my headliner in dark blue crushed velvet. It was cheap, and it stretches well, so I was hard-pressed to go wrong with it. Naturally, my girlfriend thinks it's absurd and tacky, but while I was working on this, she was at a Depeche Mode concert; pots calling kettles black, etc.
I've also done that bit at the bottom of the center stack of the dash, and the interior panels that cover up the side-mirror bolts, but have not gotten around to pictures of those yet. All in all, I think it came out really well -- no sagging issues (we'll see how winter treats it, of course). That said, I have to do something with the pillars. I've debated covering those in fabric too, but painting is easier, blah blah blah. I don't know.

Thanks, guys. I know I need to do something with the pillars - black would probably be best, and fit in with my overall color scheme.
FWIW, that fabric was $5 or 6 per yard at Jo-Ann Fabrics, is 58" wide, and comes in a bunch of colors. Perfect for the xB!
