Default Deck install

Just wondering on your opinions on deck install....should I go with the DIY install without a kit....or get the kit (since that DIY is from a few years ago and maybe the companies out there weren't up to par on tC aftermarket HU kits), any opinions or advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Get a kit. If you purchase a HU from crutchfield.com they include the car kit, the harness needed for the install,
and Master Guide sheets to tear apart your interior the right way all for free. Single din or double, definitely get
a kit. It does look a lot better and more professional. (My HU pictured is over 3 years old. No worries on the kit.)

I'd get the wiring install kit, and if you can afford it, a double din unit. It will look a lot better with a double din. A single din will work though, as the picture above displays.

Alright guys....got the kit from Crutchfield, but I think they sent me the wrong one....let me know what you guys think.

They sent me the double din one, and I'm just installing an Alpine 9885 (single din), although it does come with a pocket so you can install a single din....but then in the instructions it says that its a door-delete kit, I kinda like that door....

So I either just shut up and deal with the no door idea (I suppose in a few years if I want a double din player, I got the right kit) or there's a tip or two you guys can give me so the door is still operable. And like I always say, any help is greatly appreciated!!

you should call crutchfield and have them explain what they sent you.. they'll help you out. they're good like that.

the regular kit lets you keep the door! give them a call

Crutchfield is pretty good about helping you for free. They've done it a lot with me in the past. They should just ship you a new one no charge, and you return that one later. They did that with me before on stuff.

Hey sciontc mich, I did talk to Crutchfield, and they did help me out very well...amazing customer service!! And they actually just sent me the single din one and told me not to worry about sending the double din one back, and since the single din one was $10 less, we worked it out so they could send it 2-day! Just installed it this last weekend....looks great! Now I have a double din install kit brand new in the package that I could either hold on for future use or sell it!

Either way everything worked out....thanks again!

Yeah the guys at crutchfield are awesome, its why so much business is being stolen from the custom shops, their prices are unmatchable by a custom shop(I know b/c half of there prices is what we sold the product to shops and we were the distribution company) and their customer service and product guarentees are unmatched
