My daughter got run off a freeway and damaged the transmission pan. I thought I got away easy, however, when I removed the pan part of the transmission housing behind the pan was cracked. I was going to replace the pan myself but this just got more complicated. Any idea what the transmission component that in the 12 o'clock position in the attached photo? How much of the transmission will need to be replace to fix this? This part is molded into to bottom transmission housings so I'm assuming the whole housing will need to be replaced. Thanks for any information.

It's a little hard to tell from the pic but it may be a part of the valve body.
