Bazooka and aftermarket head units

Bazooka and aftermarket head units
I am thinking about getting a new head unit. I have the dealer-installed Bazooka sub. I was just wondering how difficult it is to use this sub with an aftermarket head unit. Does the sub plug into the back of the head unit or is it just wired to the rear speakers? If it runs to the head unit will the harness work with another manufacturer besides Pioneer? Any help appreciated.

The hookup is trivial -- the Bazooka wiring harness is a pass-through that uses the same connectors as the standard Toyota/Scion wiring harness.
The only possible complication is power consumption. The stock head unit draws its power from the accessory circuit and the Bazooka draws power from the dome circuit. If the aftermarket head unit draws power from the dome circuit as well (some do) you may need to run an extra wire for power else risk burning up your wiring harness or blowing a fuse.
