a friend of mine has a tanabe exhaust on his xB, not sure which on, but he has the aem cai, and it is so quick sounds like a stock car, if you can even hear it

Okay, that was insightful, thanks. So from what I can tell, it sounds almost stock and the performance gains are great? If i'm wrong stop me.

Even with an intake, header, and exhaust you will still feel it needs more power. I have a Fujita SRI, Strup header, and axleback. Gains at best were barely noticable. I did put them on all at different times so I could be wrong. However I did read a post somewhere on SL that compared to a stock box it runs better.

As far as my review of the Strup product, I think the exhaust is great. It does have a few drawbacks.

*Pros
-Deep low tone, definately not ricey at all
-constructed very well but. . . (see cons)
-Funny enough even with a 4" tip I still don't see it until I get close.
*Cons
-After a little while it gets loud. A six hour road trip has seriously made me consider putting a silencer in
-Construted well, but fitment. Granted I did get the second or third Version 2 axleback from strup but I have heard/read that people were having problems getting them to fit right and getting it centered in the exhaust hole cutout on the rear lip. Some like myself have melted the rear lip.
-Price, for an axleback it's a little pricey but I got what I paid for and I'm happy with it!
*could go either way
-I drive an automatic, and yes the exhaust does drone.
-The resonance level is around 80mph cruising on the highway. By this I mean at 80mph the exhaust gets quieter.
-Doesn't come with the gasket for the flange/connector. If it did I didn't get one. I got one for about $5 so be prepared for that. It is always recommended to change gaskets when doing exhaust work, however it is not always neccessary.

*Conclusion
All in all I'd give the Strup v2 Axleback a 4 out 5 stars. Mainly because IMO it should have come with a silencer like the DC sports axleback. Otherwise I had very minor fitment issues.

If you are looking for a great sounding exhaust Strup might be for you, long road trips might get a little loud though.

I have one right now, it is awsome and it looks great and makes my car sound like a wrx I highly recommend it.

the hks exhaust is the best axleback made for the xB.

it has a Deep tone, but not too loud bc of built in resonator on top of exhaust. @ around $350 its a very good buy.

Are there any recommendations for a dual exhaust? I forgot who the company who made it, but there was a dual exhaust made for the xB that sound like a VW R32!! (Heavenly, nice purr, and loud... what I'm looking for).

Any suggestions?

i believe it is borla that makes the bolt in dual cat back, all you gotta do is cut out a spot on the left sidemof the rear valence

i vote strup i got it and the more u dive the hotter it gets the louder it goes and it is bad for long trips. i just put my stock on for a road trip i was sad cause it didnt have much "umph" with out it. i got back waited a wile and i drone for 2 hrs. then after 30 min. that it had set i changed it back to strup and it is a noticeable diff. i dont rellay know how loud it is out side no 1 drives my car but it gets loud inside after a wile. and i try to go slow in neighborhoods to friend houses and they will be at the door b4 i go outside they say they can hear me (that might be my sound system tho). i heard it soulds better with the strup headers. sum 1 told me its a deeper sound but i didnt ask about how it is on long trips. ok thats my 2 cents.
