so i cleaned my car today and i saw there was some of the carpet was white, i tried to get it out with soap and water and no luck, then i tried to use carpet cleaner and still nothing, it has been there since winter, i guess the salt u use for snow fused with the carpet and now the peice of carpet is rock hard and white, any idea on how to get this out?

Get this little thing made by Bissell called the Little Green or something like that. It's a portable steam cleaner and it will get that salt out without much work. I have one and I have detailed many car interiors with dried salt in there.

It's about $90 and worth every penny. It also works wonders on upholstery in general. Steam cleaning takes out stains. The hot water is needed.

Make sure to get the cleaning solution made for the Little Green.

Also, get a couple of brushes: a soft brush for seats and a slightly stiffer brush for the floors.

1. wet rag
2. place wet rag on offending salt marks
3. Go play Burnout Paradise on the PS3 for a couple hours
4. Remove wet rag and scrub with another wet rag.
....
5. Enjoy salt free carpet
