Default Yes, another Rear Disc Brake post!

First off I want to say, I have already read the comments about how these are not needed for the xA and xB, so please no need to tell me. Here's a project I started on last weekend. I went to a local salvage yard and picked up the whole rear swingarm from an xB. That way I could get the conversion completed on a workbench before installing it on my daily driver. The rotor used was only for mock-up, So bare with the appearance of the work in progress stages. Along with the caliper bracket. I ended up using one of the hub spacers I make along with a caliper bracket plate, this will be all one piece after tonight. I'm gonna stick around the shop tonight and re-make the caliper brackets. This kit will move the wheels out 5/8" like the hub spacers. You may still be able to use camber shims, but I won't be able to say for sure on that.

Going from this:

To This:

And here is where I'm at right now with it:

All that is left is figuring out the parking brake. I have a stock cable ordered, should be in by Friday. Flexlines are ordered and the new rotors are on the way.
My goal is to have the kit done and on the xB by the end of next week. I'll test it for a little while, before producing kits.

If this works and you start to produce some kits. I would buy one in a heart beat.

I would love to have rear disc for my xA.

Well, I wasn't able to finish the brackets tonight. I'll try to get them done tomorrow.
Looks like I'm gonna have to take a break from this project for the next couple of days,
starting Friday. Hope to get back on it Monday. But here are some machining pictures from tonight.

I hate that I'm not gonna get this done before the weekend, but soon, very soon!

YEah that's what I meant. ridiculous Price for almost no reason but for looks. Why this looks so good.

I think the xA would benefit form rear disc brakes period.

Some more work in progress photos. This is what the caliper bracket will look like, but the finished products will be CNC'd not band sawed.
I did this to get it done and tested. Fits great, can't wait to get the brake cable done and flex lines in.

Feel free to make suggestions!

Its not like the xA wieghs that much....BUTTTTTTTT Its nice to see someone actually moving ahead with this. But like someone else said....make a kit & sell it , Ill buy one in a heartbeat. Just make it reasonable unlike the big brake kits. I would love to have 4 disc brakes again.

WOW!!! Thats loooks really well made it would be FREAKING awesome if ou plan on selling this kit. But i have a few questions:

1.) What car did the calipers come from??
2.) Where car did the rotors come from??
3.) What brake lines are you using??
4.) Do you still have the E-brake line??
5.) Have you ever thought of the change in brake bias and how to compensate??

This looks VERY VERY VERY well made, please answer my question im DYING to know!!
