Default relocation trip question

I am moving from Ny down to South Fla. Right now My xb has 3800 miles on it. As you all know the schedule oil change is every 5k miles. Should i change the oil before the trip or leave it for when i arrive in florida? :

I would just do it now. No harm in doing it sooner.

If it was me, I'd do a lube/oil/filter change/tire rotation before you leave, then again after you get there...

There is a good post on here about tire roatation. I think it went along the lines "If you alighnment is good you have no need to waste the money on rotations because the extra milage you would gain does not out weigh the cost spent to have it done"

I don't rotate the tires for extra mileage, but rather for even tire wear. I learned the hard way on a VW Passat VR6 we used to have about rotating the tires every time I changed the oil. It's easy enough to find a place that will do it for free (or pretty close) with the oil and filter change.

I guess if you get it free then its all good. Now the problem is when you have uni directional tires can only move front to back on the same side so I guess it does not work to great for tread wear.
