Default Pictures of Boxcar Willie, my 2005 xB

Hey there...It has been said, that my former VW Beetle WHISPER was ROUND FOR A REASON. Well, BOXCAR WILLIE is SQUARE FOR A REASON as well.
That reason is it's just so dang ugly, it's cute. At least to me. It reminds me of that certain...I dunno. Something that the Beetle has. That spirit of going against the crowd.

So, here is a thread to show off my 2005 Scion xB, named Boxcar Willie, and his mods....
It is a two tone, Black Cherry Pearl, with Black Sand Pearl. Subtle, but quite effective.

MODS are:

Interior
- Tinted Windows from the front to all sides, SCION Blue/Red LED set, with Cup Holder Lights, OBX Classic Shift ****, OBX Sports Pedals, SCION floor mats, SCION cargo cover, SCION cargo mat, SCION cargo net, xB door sills, XM radio, Bazooka Subwoofer, Leather Covered Steering Wheel in Gray and Black, Pioneer Six Disc In Dash CD Changer with Changing lights, Toyota Highlander Chromatic Auto Dimming Temp/Compass Mirror, Instrument Panel, Doors, and Stick Shift Boot Applique, SCION Arm rest, Fuzzy Japanese Dragon w/Japanese Characters Dice, Japanese Dragon Shoulder Pad (center, rear),TRD Shoulder Pads, Pioneer TS-A1681R 4-Way Speakers, (rear and front), Pioneer TS-G1040R 2 Way Speakers with Bass Reducers, dash, Katzkin full leather interior, (with special Japanese embroidery and a hand made arm rest leather piece).

Exterior- European Tail Lights, Black Sand Pearl spoiler on the back, metallic Black Sand Pearl grill on front, with a Black Cherry Pearl SCION emblem, 3M guard rails on doors, Auto Mate OEM Upgrade Alarm,
de-badge xB, Fish, and Japanese Character badge, XM radio antenna, Rear Bumper Appilque, 9004SB - Fusion Series Head Light bulbs, Webasto Panoramic Sunroof, Real Chrome window sills.

Performance
AEM Cold Air Intake, Borla Exhaust System, Front Strut Tie Bar, made by Hotchkis, xB AEI Custom SCION Battery Tie Down, AEM Billet Oil Cap,
TRD Quickshifter, TRD Lowering Springs, Rostra Cruise Control, STATUS REY Chrome Alloy Rims, Hankook K106 High Performance Radial 215/35R18 Tires.

More to come!
This first shot was on the day I bought it...It is still stock then.

Inside. Note the TRD Quickshifter. Well, you can note that if you wish. It's hard to 'see' it, since it's in the boot. Note the Two Toned Leather Steering Wheel. Note the six disc in dash stereo with changing colors...Note how clean this baby is.

Thanks. I was hoping someone would notice that. Now, here is where I may end up going with this car...this picture is not the color I would use, but the wood sides...That is what I am thinking of doing...

Anyway it ends up, I hope my xB will be one of the first Retro xB's out there.

A woodie xB might be good looking. Needs to be the right color of car & wood vinyl I guess is what you would use? I think the front of the roof would need to be slanted like .25" so you get that hot rod looking going.

Sort of, but not that much... that photo up there..well, hold on, let me get it...

That one I removed a big ole' white van that was behind the xB. I did it in MSPAINT. So, my skills are not that great, but okay.

I am kinda hoping someone here might have mad skilz enough to make my xB into a Woody.

xbguam, yeah, I like the idea of Moon Caps as well. And that may be a way to go. We will have to see.

Wood is a lot of work, and might look goofy on a japanese car. If you can pull it off and make it work it'd be awesome though.

But, didn't they already do that with the PT Cruiser?? There are lots of them here with the "fake" wood panels!

shiny! I'm old enough to know what those caps came from, so I can't judge

Anyway, here's a related thread with a photoshop in it.

It isn't the best Photoshop work I've ever done, but maybe it will give you some sense of inspiration.

A wood pattern like that might look good. I dont like it in that photoshop going up onto the doors, just looks to strange.

Zoink! That is far better then I could have done! Thanks! Yes, it will give me something to ponder...Although, I was leaning on leaving the color it has now, with adding the wood...
I am still not 100% sure I will do this...but I might. It's a way to go, that is for sure.
Some one else suggested to me (local guy I know), to make it look like and old cop truck/van deal...

Not so sure about that.

Thanks again!
