I've got a K&N but I am going to say neither. No intake is really better than the other with such a minimal power gain for intakes in general. Between 2-4 horsepower, differences are negligible.

And they all sound the same: good. Buy which ever intake you can get the best deal on.

I've heard and seen videos of the Weapon R on youtube. It sounded totally sick. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get it instead of the TRD CAI.

My dad and I have always stood behind K&N, great company and great quality. But I actually have the Weapon-R on my tC and absolutely love it, no problems. Like what PRODIGY3000 has said, intakes pretty much are the same in sound and proformance. If you look at build quality and longevity I would go with the K&N. Because of that I've contemplated switching but really never had a reason to yet.

the weapon-r company is the same as monstor motor works (mmw) - which their support is horrible. But the product form what I have heard is good. I had the k&n a few years ago and it seemed fine. It opened the car up a little more but that was that. The one part wrong with the k&n is that the way they made the bracket .....it would break the mount. It doesnt matter because that mount is meaninless but it happend to myself and others. If people have the weapon-r one in stock and you know you will get one ... ide go with their product. If you have to order it from them .....then you might be waiting for a while.

an intake is mainly for sound IMO... not much on performance... i just installed the WR intake though just this morning... right now my sound is pretty sweet... but it sounds just like wen u remove that pipe that goes into the fender from the OEM intake. Sorry to thread jack, but quick question: Do intakes have break in periods? like so the sound will get louder

They want them because they want them. I was just telling them what I would get if I was buying it. The performance is minimal but they want an intake.

I wouldn't put a short ram on an automatic, thats all, i love the WR its what i have.
the auto's seem to suffer a huge loss in low end TQ with SRI's so a CAI would be a better option for autos.

I have the weapon R secret short ram, and it sounds beastly. Defiantly roars, been told it sounds like I have a v8 or turbo under the hood.

here is a vid of the weapon-r short ram

and here is a vid of AEM CAI for comparing purposes
