Default Scion repair.

There was a pole it was a little bit too close, it damaged the side skirt and scrapped a little bit of the paint off the door. Would it be easy to pop that side skirt off and put on a new one? Are there instructions anywhere on how to replace it and what tools would be needed? About how much would it cost if I had a shop replace/repair the side skirt? Is there anywhere you could even buy a stock side skirt online or otherwise?

Hmm, I went there and it seemed like they were only selling chrome side skirts, do they have standard ones somewhere? Also if I get it done by a body shop do you have any idea how much they should be charging me for it?

on their home page, on the bottom left hand side, it has a link to go to OEM replacement parts

http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...=1&catalogid=2

is that what you are looking for or something in that area? not really sure what you need.

if you can't figure out what you need, have something like a dealer or body shop look at it and give you the partnumbers you need.

Thanks for your replys, yeah that is what I'm looking for, just kinda sucks that that piece of plastic is so expensive. Hmm do you know how much it would cost to get it replaced by a shop? I guess I can check around, it just seems like it's almost so easy that I could do it so I don't know why they would charge so much for labor. How much does it usually cost to get a some scrapes on a door fixed?

Here is a pic

Better yet search www.car-part.com and find a used one in the color of your car from a local parts yard. They aren't that hard to R&R and you can save some major coin for not alot of work and phone calls.

the labor is so expencive because of the amount of man hours it takes a person to sand, prime, sand, spray basecoats, spray clear coats, wet sand, buff, polish the paint. you can attach the side skirt in about 15 min, but the painting is very labor intensive.. you can try to get one that is already painted to match, and install yourself, or even try to paint one yourself. there have been a few articles on painting here..
