Ok, so i know there is one already available from TRD but IMO, its still not only very conservative, but relatively expensive as well.
I am starting this thread to see if anyone else would be interested in having B & M make a short shifter for the xB. Im sure if we can show that there is enough of us that are interested, maybe they will look into making it.
add me to that list... I just became aware of just how much of a difference it can make on my xA. I just bought a GReddy heavy weighted shift **** and love the difference in gear shifts, just seems to slide a lot more easily.. eitherway, so count me as another notch for the short throw (assuming either it is compatible or one built for an xA)
I installed the TRD short throw shifter. I like it, but the throws are still much too long, should be 2/3rd what they are w/the OEM shifter, but the TRD short shifter does help.

hacking away at your shifter doesn't necessarily help shorter throws..
imo.. trd one is nice.. B&M is gonna make a short STICK only thing..
not like a whole assembly TRD offers... can't compare a little rod
that some companies sell for 20-30 bucks to a whole assembly made by
Toyota..
are u sure u all are referring to shorter throw? or the HEIGHT of the shifter?
i drive my car everyday.. then i hop into my buddies to feel the difference..
not only is the throw shorter.. its like a lot more "solid" or nicer..
i really thing the trd one is just fine and dandy for 125..
its not just a stick. its the assembly! its worth it.. every penny.
and it comes with a trd shift ****.. even that is worth 25 bucks.
oh yea.. btw.. having ur shifter LOW(cut or whatever) will just make u reach harder
for the shifter.. reaching down all far may "seem" cool but will not shorten your throws.
I personally like the short shifter. I could go with a shorter throw but for right now I'm preffering a shorter height. It's still too high for me and my arms are long so I won't mind it. And yes, looks matter too
hahajoey is right. for a buck twentyfive you do get alot. plus its a "sport" shifter not short. and i would say it does exactly that. and thing more extreme(though i would like that) and most of us would be banging gears all over the place. a change in height would be annoying because the shifter is in a pefect location for the car since the seating position is upright. so if the trd sport shift kit could be modified to be shorter throws (20-30%) than i think wed be talking.
In case you havnt seen any of B & M s products, i suggest you take a look before speaking. Their products are of the highest quality. They also do not take short cuts when making their set ups. If an entire assembly could be made and one is needed to be made, they will make it.
I dont work for them but I have seen their products first hand and have driven cars with their entire transmissions installed let alone their short shifters. Even if it costs the same as the TRD one I KNOW it would be a better product.
Regardless, this piece isnt even made yet. Im only generating interest.

My xA needs major help in the shifting department. Every time I speed shift, it feels like I'm going to rip that weak-___ shift lever right off of the tranny!
