I test drove a gen2 yesterday.

I was disappointed by the clutch pedal. My 06 has a fairly short even pressure clutch which was an easy learn from my mustang GT clutch.

The 08 box was like hard initially and then soft in the middle and kind of long. It also seemed to have a longer dead zone initially.

These are just my observations as a very picky clutch guy. I'm sure I will get used to it, I'm just surprised.

BTW what will my 06 RS3.0 bring on trade (12000 miles)??????????

PS: I would get 4 of those really cool spare tires with the yellow rims for daily driving!!!!

Yeah it takes some getting used to. I've had mine for about two weeks and even now that I'm used to it, it's still weird.

It has so much travel but only a little bit right at the end is when the clutch engages/disengages. Kind of hard when you're on a hill and you figure the pedal is out far enough to hold the car and then you start rolling backwards. Makes me feel like a noob.

Hell, yea. The clutch sucks. I complaint like 10 thousand times to scion.

I'm with all of you about the clutch thing. It's weird, and takes some gettin gused to. I switch between the XB, and my beater, a 1990 pickup, which is also a stick. I get used to the XB clutch, and look like a fool when I drive the pickup, and vice versa. It's a never ending cycle!!!

to everything ya'll are saying. Luckily, for me, I probably haven't died out in about a month or so. It sure was hard as hell getting used to. Not only have I had prior Manual cars before but I ride my R6 pretty often as well. So you'd think driving a car with this type of clutch would be no problem...but not such with these xb2's. Is there a way to adjust them at all?

there probably is a trd heavy duty clutch avaliable since it is the same engine/transmission as the tC.

but clutches change from vehicle to vehicle. driving my bro's isuzu rodeo, the clutch has an acre of travel, but it disengages and reingauges right at the top of the pedal travel, literaly, like it doesn't grab until your foot is almost off the clutch pedal.

I agree! I find the clutch to have a narrow grab range... after 800 miles though it is getting a bit better. It wouldn't be so bad if the friggen gas pedal was so sensitive at tip in.

Wierd, I thought the xB2's clutch was a lot like the one in my Supra's W58.


And I thought the original xB clutch was a joke and way too light.

Newbie here Took me two days to get use to the clutch. Its not that bad as some may think.

Pretty soft clutch as far as the OEM is concerned. It's only a 1.5L, can't expect much!
