Default Installed TRD CAI

Here are some pics of the TRD CAI. Installed it Wednesday night. Took me almost 2 hours. Hardest part was getting the box up through the wheel well, other than that it was pretty simple.

I'm still waiting on mine. Maybe I'll call them today for status. When I installed my randode style CAI I removed the battery for more access. Hopefully, it's the same way wtih the TRD CAI.. Looks good! how does it sound?

Did you relocate the battery or just remove for easier access? It sounds great after 3k RPM. Only thing I had to relocate was the negative battery wires.

I just removed the battery for the installation... everything went back in the same place after. Any power gains?

my phone don't have flash on it and it's too dark for it to show clear enough on the pic. it's a decent size opening though.

Hey, another Randode style CAI modder. I also removed my battery to install mine rather than going through the well well. I wonder if the TRD air box would fit with the battery removed. It sure would be easier.

When I installed my springs I didn't remove the cowl assy and I just installed the TRD strut brace in 10 minutes without removing the cowl. Removing the cowl sure seems like a lot of unneccessary extra work.

What I thought was cool was the vent replacement for the punch out. Its nice to know TRD went that extra step.

I have the the TRD intake installed plus TRD exhaust and it sounds awesome when you get above 3000 rpm.

bump for finding out what affect the CAI has on gas mileage???

I installed a K&N CAI for my 06 box, and really liked the horsepower boost.. mileage was always good with the 06 box anyway, but I don't want to do anything with my 08 that will decrease the gas mileage. (after all, compared with the 06, the 08 has PLENTY of horses under the hood)
