Default The next tC to be replaced, or improved.

Since the xA and the xB were both replaced with something totally different, larger and more powerful, do you guys want the next tC to do the same?

I think the tC is perfectly sized and power is not bad at all. What I really wish the next tC would be is that it should be geared wider. I don't like a 2.4L engine buzzing at 3,700rpm at 80mph. Toyota should space it out some more or add a 6th gear.

Now if Toyota wants to add more power, I think the 2.4L is their largest 4 banger, unless they put the Tacoma 2.7

Toyota should dump the tC Spec and make a regular tC and make a higher model with the Camry V6 268hp I don't care if it's as front heavy as Oprah sits on the hood. With the Camry V6... I can do without a supercharger or a turbo.

hmm sounds like a good idea but if the gears were spaced farther or another one is added it would turn into a torqueless honda they also couldn't put more power b/c of $$ issues I wish it actually more creature comforts I.e. foldin mirrors, one touch close sunroof 2 sunroofs would b even cooler oh nd no hatch rattle lol btw wat kinda power/torque does that 2.7 put out may b a way to swap it and then build it up

It wouldn't be a torqueless honda. The camry 4 banger has a 1:1 ratio with hp/torque. Honda 4 bangers make like 140hp and like 5lbs of torque. Toyota engines (minus the ZZ) seem to have good torque. I just want it to rev lower when cruising in the freeway so that I can get good mileage.

I'm guessing that it would be cheaper to put a bigger motor than if we were to buy a supercharger and have them install it. The Camry V6 also has decent mpg but becomes a monster when you open the throttle.

Folding mirrors would be cool. One touch sunroof closing can just be done by adding a notch on the switch and programming the computer, shouldn't cost too much.

Tacoma 4banger: 2.7-liter DOHC EFI
4-cylinder with VVT-i
159 hp @ 5200 rpm
180 lb.-ft. @ 3800 rpm

not a big enough jump IMO.

They should offer a turbocharged version of the TC......just like they did for the supra and the MR2......

all toyo needs to do is add a 6th gear, i dont care if its still topped at 120 cause i dont drive that fast. i just hate going 80 at like 4k rpm's

I would definitely be skeptical of putting a 6 cyl in it. I care way more about how it handles than how fast it can go in a straight line. With some suspension mods, it can do respectibly on the autox tracks now. With more weight up front it would most likely just be a brick on wheels unless they seriously changed the body around and made the car larger so they could get the weight shifted correctly.

I would be content if they offered 175-180BHP and same torque w/ the same motor.

you have missed the point entirely...

you can make almost as much horsepower you want with the tc through bolt-ons to boost, the tc can make between 139, and 454 whp and even more, we'll see where 318_tc is going later.

but one thing that can't be done as easily or cheaply is rear-wheel drive or all wheel drive.

if toyota makes it's revived ae86 car, that would be great, if they use some of the old drivetrain from the rav4 to make it awd that's great too. then, if it is sluggish, turbocharge it or supercharge.

i'd say the only thing they really should improve on is the gas mileage for the 2ze-fe. for the tC's new chassis design or next generation, it'll be hard for toyota to outdo themselves, but hey, they make great sports cars if not often though.

i wished they bring out back the supra. where are the MKV? :'(

gas mileage is bad mainly because of the short gear ratios. last gen camry's got better mpg than tc's and that was one reason why.

If your tC's sheds weight down to at least 2,600 lbs, sacrifice some torque in the 2.4 for at least 200 hp NA out of the box, and stop investing in stupid emanages for ECU's that actually tune VVT-i so you can make more power than most of you are already making.

or we can just stop being pedal gas happy all the time, that works too.

That topic has been discussed over and over and over and completely beaten to death. All it takes is a nice simple click of the litte red button up at the top of the page.

But to make it easier, here's a link:
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/search.php

But to GTRasta, welcome to our forums. . . and I'd definitely love to hear NEW ideas, if they are indeed valid. Draxcaliber, although not always eloquent in his choice of words, is right, however.
