Default Clunking sound when shifing into second??

Hey, im new at driving stick, and just got my TC yesterday. When i shift into second pretty hard i hear a nice loud clunk along with a nice chirp / squeel. Just wondering WHY this is happening, if something with my car is wrong or something with my driving

First of all don't drive your car like that, you just got the damn thing. Second of all it likely is just due to things "moving around" during hard acceleration. Also, make sure that you have the clutch all the way to the floor when shifting.

Now, where are you located in LI?

The chirping/ squeeling might be from chirping your tires going into second gear. use a little less gas. and yea go easy until you get shifting down. Lol. Everyone in this topic is from LI so far. well. Almost. but tCguy is close enough

let the clutch go slowly... power shifting is not necessary especially since you got the car.

eventually yea, but its not like it'll burn out with-in a month unless you ride the clutch. the little clunking noise I think ur talking about its just the gears engaging, nothing to worry about.

Gotta Rep Bay Shore.

...had to reply to such a long island thread ha.
ronkonkoma here

nah man, those things are surprisingly tough. but dont ride the clutch forever so to speak, just it out slowly when you're throwing for a smoother shift.

and yeah man if you just got the car don't go mistreating her such just yet.

get comfortable with shifting before you go beating on your new car.

No you guys are all wrong..... I hear a cluncking sound when shifting into second myself. It only happens when Im really getting into it, regular driving I have no problems. The sound comes from the right engine bay side.

Sound to me like a rubber motor mount without the rubber.
P.S. I drive my car for commuting purposes only, don't street race anymore, any the TC has nothing on my Kaw Ninja. But if I do want to leave the stop light before anyone else does, I shouldnt be hearing any knocking noises.

The tC is kinda noisy when you shift into second gear. That's normal. The chirp, as it's been said, is your tires. Quit pushing your car until you've broken it in.

yea i know the tires squeel, but i can figure out that loud noises = things hitting hard = things broken!

Like I said before. I'm pretty sure its just the gears hitting each other when they engage.

No, I know when the gears are scraping and when they are not and its not the gears. You can put it into gear easy and slam on the gas and I hear it
