Default WTH? Dealer says you cannot see demo TC or testdrive...

I went to a dealer yesterday with my girl and he told me they get 2 TCs a month and he has deposits on them before they get there, so how the hell am I supposed to look at a TC or let my girl testdrive one if they NEVER have them at the dealer? WTF LOL.

Ima try some more dealers next weekend, but homeboy told me no dealers have demos because the car is selling so well

How can they not have a friggin demo to look at? Makes no sense to me whatsoever! Plus dude was a total ******** and said if I gave him a despot he would hold one for me to testdrive, hahaha like Ima pay some dude so I can SEE a TC yeah right.

Anyone else have this problem? I cannot even think of any other car where they do not have one at the dealer.

Hey, i know that the dealers where im at say that no scion dealer is aloud to sell any of the demos unless their is atleast 2 available. they have to have atleast one xa,xb,and tc. Its made that reason so that people like yourself can test drive one.

But it is true how they only make so many scions, Im pretty sure their only making enough for the dealerships.

Hey, I see your from sf like me... if you want to check out a demo, head on down to SFscion/ SFtoyota (their Van Ness St. one). I know they have a silver tc demo loaded with a whole bunch of stuff (body kit, 18" rims, etc) that I test drove.

When I picked up my FM TC last week they also had a white stock one in the showroom.

Dealers were given the option to purchase a "Trac" Xb and Xa, they are supposed to put a bunch of accessories and even TRD stuff on them. As far as the tC, there are NO Trac cars available, we do not have the option to own what you are calling a "demo" car.

If we were receiving tC's every week we could hold onto a sold vehicle to display, but seeing we get so few and they come so far apart, we are not going to force a customer to leave their tC with us for several weeks. Think of the complaints that would generate.

Eventually the supply will allow us to have a few in stock, for now we are doing our best to meet customers expectations.

^^out of curiosity and seeing as how you're a dealer you may know..

Are you not Covenant Compliant if you do not have a tC on the lot?

I know that at my dealer we have to use a employees tC to stay compliant till we got a loaded Azure Pearl in, noone seems to want that color, its been there for weeks...

To be Scion Covenant compliant, you have to have at least one of each models on your lot at all times. Here at this dealership, I took one of my first auto tCs and sold it to the dealership through my trac rental fleet. That way I will always have one here to look at and drive. This car will stay here in that capacity until I can keep to tCs on the ground at all times.

The problem is, we are supposed to have a demo vehicle at all times, but customers do not want to pruchase a demo vehicle, they want one with very few miles on it. So we are stuck in the middle of a sticky situation. My region was given TRAC tC's, but I know not all regions were. All I can say, is try to understand both sides of the situation. I know it is frustrating, but most dealers are doing the best they can to make as many people happy as possible. Remember, you can't please all the people all the time, but you can please some people some of the time.

yeah i wanted to test drive a tc but they are all on backorder so i never got the chance so i got an xb. not gonna put a down on a car i havent even driven yet. besides they look like 6 cars all bastardized together. not a bad replacement for the celica but too many bimmeresque/ rsx lookalike thing on it. i hate it when bmw gets copied. it hurts me deep down inside. besides the xb's payments are alot better. i suppose thats what i keep telling myself. i sure wish my box was faster tho. at least to me it looks cool. and yes bastardize is a word or at least it should be i mean it describes the tc almost perfectly

that is really weird. like other members pointed out, dealerships are suppose to have at least one tc on the lot, otherwise they can lose their right to sell the car.

Default testdrive...

Call SCION, dealers have to have demos in all 3 models .
Report dealers who don't . Not saying they have to have one in auto and stick , but need a demo in xA , xB and tC .

i think the salespeople were lying to you. they probably just didn't wanna test drive you. every dealership has to have a demo on the lot. trac vehicle or not. we have one that we aren't selling for that purpose. people come in and want to buy it everyday, but i have to turn them away. what most people don't understand is that because this business is so comission heavy, cars like the scion get no love. that's why you must make sure you get a scion salesman, and even then sometimes you don't get help. good luck on your search though. go to the dealer ratings and pm some dealers.

That's weird, my dealer here in Austin bought a tC, decked it out, and have been using it as the demo for test driving. They also had a second tC they let us test drive as well. We ended up buying the third one they had that had just come off the truck that day (this was all last Friday, 10/22).

I also remember the Maud dealership here also had a tC with custom Charles Maud Scion logos all over it (they had 4 tC's with various colors in stock).

I guess if you want a tC the place to be is Austin, TX there are plenty sitting on dealers lots down here.

funny you mention this topic, i was telling my boss about the TC, and him and his GF went to the dealer, and she asked to test drive the tc, and the salesman was a real ***hole to her, and asked her dumb questions like...."is this the car you want?", "are you sure you want this model". etc....and then he didn't want her to test drive it....then after he finally let her drive it, when they got back, she said she wanted a different color one, and the salesman told her " I knew you weren't going to buy anything"! crazy azz salesman. I couldn't beleive my ears! I had nothing but great experiences with scion....i agree with you guyz tho, that they probably don't want to go on alot of test drives so they can possibly sell the one they have with as little miles as possible. still, tho, they don't have to be dicks about it

I agree with the opinions of the slaesperson being lazy and ignorant. A few months back I went to Hendrick Lexus in Charlotte and they askedus if we were buying today. I responded "I don't know I haven't driven one yet". He asked me to come back another day! Idiot we went then the road and bought a new Volvo S60T. I drove by that day and showed it to his manager..ooops
