I've just got a CAI but i seem to hit 105-110ish and prettymuch hit the wall. wont got any faster no matter how much gas i give it.

on a side note. for 6K i can build a 300+hp car. I dont think the 11NZ-FE really has quite as much potential as it could

Ya.... STi>>>>>>>>>>>>>>xA based on speed/modability

You should definitely look somewhere else if you want to have those goals...like a 2nd gen Rx7 for $3000 or so, and $3000 in mods might get you close, but still...probably not.

For 6k you're not gunna do it...even with 8k you might have a chance if he is a bad driver...this of course is on the 1nzfe. With a stroker kit bumpin you a lil under 1.8L (around $3k), a turbo kit ($2500), and then all the fuel and engine management ($2k), you'll probably be boosting around 15psi (around 260whp) for race and although that is an easy mid to low 13sec pass...a stock STI runs 13 flat all day.

Now if you spent $4k on a 3sgte swap and added the $2k for upgrades, you can easily take him...him being relatively stock.

I made about 117mph with my friend about two month ago. That was with an axle-back and header, which is nothing without an intake. It took me like about 3-4 min. to reach it from 70mph in a flat road. I know that it was 117, because my friend told me that was exactly in between.

you might want to swap your engine with another, like corolla XRS engine
i think its name 2zz it has 180hp and 6speed tranny
and give it a small turbo to raise it to 220

don't forget other performance like clutch, flywheel, racing bearings and blahhhh..... stuff..

I honestly would not go for the 2ZZ, but the MR2 engine if it fits. . . 4A-GE???

But in terms of useful power, I personally would never want more than 225hp out of the xA, regardless of engine. . . if I were THAT power hungry, I would have gone for Lexus SC300, which has a TON of tuning potential, not to mention they don't attract attention like Supras, which they are very similar to.

The xA is barely fast enough for me, but 160hp would make me VERY happy. 225hp and I would keep it for life.

I posted yesterday that I went qith my friend and we hit about 117, but that 's what he told me. So I wnt last night by myself and all I did was 112 and took forever. The difference is that I have an Injen cai and that it was only me. Oh well i guess it wasn't truth after all. And for you CIBERGYPSY, I don't think that I'm going to do anything mayor to my car. From the 100k I end up receiving about 67k after the f@#$% taxes. 33k was for my girl, 10k for my parents in Puerto Rico (down payment for a house), 15k for savings (goverment treasury, since I'm in the Air National Guard) and the other 9k for me. Now my girl is going back to california to study Air Traffic Control, so I'll be using the money towards a house or just an apartment. Well se what happens Sorry I didn't post anything about the money before, but I just didn't had the time. Talk ta ya later.

djct_watt, i would love to have 160hp on my xa...i must agree with you it would make me extremly :D ...but the question is can a swap be done with our cars...a 4a-ge engine would be nice, but is it possible...need more power for such a light car.

I dunno. . . I've heard of a 2ZZ swap, but nothing about the 4AG. Being that those engines are kinda hard to come buy and are still popular, they are still pricey. Damn, a Datsun 240Z engine can be had for about $100!!! If I could attain an engine, I would strongly consider putting my ride under (being that it is my daily driver, I would have to ride the bus for a month or two, but who cares for a 4AG xA).

i was installing my new safc2 into my xa and i noticed on the wiring diagrams that there is another engine listed for the ist and the bB (xa and xb for you noobs) its the 2NZ-FE... according to the manual the engine was available sometime in the 2001-2002 ist and bB. anybody know where this engine originates in the toyota family? probably a good swap for you power hungry kiddos out there.

Here you go flat_tires.

2NZ-FE = 1.3L, 88Hp

1NZ-FE = 1.5L 110Hp

I don't think it would be a good change. But thank for the info.
