I'm running Kumho Ecsta ASX tires in 195/60/15 and noticed no change at all in gas milage. The 185/65/15 is actually taller (3.1% too slow) than the 195/60/15 (2% too slow).

I run the Fuzions on my box, and I will say Wow! They are great! I love mine, my driving would be considered spirited for sure. I like the fact that in good hard turns they will slide lightly without just letting go. Oh yeah I run the 195/60/15's I noticed no change in fuel usage. I did notice that they make the little box feel alot more stable.
yea i just got the 195's for the same reason .185's for some reason cost $15-30 more for less material in a comparable tire. plus, it's a little cushier ride, and a little wider contact patch.
I've heard the best matches for the stock steelies would be 195/60 and 205/55. You'll have no changes in the speedometer, and you'll have a comfortable ride what with the larger sidewall.
i ran 195 bfg traction ta's before my 19s. i loved them. excellent bad weather tire. i want to say that the oem size for the bb is a 185/65, but i am not certain... either way, it is only a small increase in size, you gas milage will stay the same... check out tirerack.com, great place to shop for tires...

Hi - new here....and new to making changes to vehicles!
I've found tires that I want....they are 195/60R15....and I've been
told that Walmart won't install them for me because they're not what
my xb "says" I need...... Here's my question - when
you get tires online....and you need them installed - who do you get to
install them for you?

Howdy there.
When your new tires get delivered to your front door, put them in the back of your vehicle- they will fit in there just fine. Then, go down to your local Tire store (look in the phone book , and see who is local for tire shops) - it might be good to make an appointment , but most dont require that you do so. They will install them for you for right about $40-60 mounted and balanced. IF you want nitrogen (instead of regular air) , its about an extra $4-5 per tire ( the only real benifit is that the nitrogen doesn't leak out nearly as fast as regular air, since Nitrogen has larger molecules).
hope this helps

PS.. forgot to add, but if COST per tire is important to you, yet getting a quality tire is also important, you should be able to get a good 195/60/15 through Discounttiredirect.com for right about $60-65 per tire( Falken I believe). Tires easy has some good deals as well, but with shipping I think they are pretty close to discount tire direct, right about $55-65.

Well - I called BelleTire in my area to see if they would install the tires for me when they're delivered...and the guy said (without knowing my price) that he was going to beat it. So...I got 4 tires 195/60/15's installed w/ Nitrogen....and have the warranty & free repairs if needed for $237.44. Just to get the tires shipped to me was $240....then adding install....so I went right up an bought 'em! I drive back country-dirt roads a lot so it doesn't matter the "quality" really - I tear through tires like nothin'. Our local tire shop stopped selling us the great brands because he knew it wouldn't matter. lol Anyways - thanks for all your help! I wouldn't have known I could get a different size if it weren't for all of ya! Thanks again!
Your welcome... sounds like it worked out well then!!!
Yes, tires are kinda like toilot paper , hey its a consumable.
