im pretty new to this forum and im thinking about getting the new 08 tc in sw. the only problem is i think the upper and lower grille are .................what you call ugly=). do you guys know if the dealer would install the previous model grilles for you if you ask them to? i would love the 05-07 grilles on the new 08 models. o just for kicks does this smiley remind anyone of morpheus or The Rock ?

 

why would the grill be a problem when you can just buy a vrd grill or any other aftermarket one

 

^to save money? im thinking about the doing the same thing. and yes, 08 grill is ugly. maybe buy vrd or if you have no money at all, find a clean 07 grills from junkyard.

 

I have a lower grill i can sell to you cheap from an 06 if you want it really bad, i don't have the upper though...

 

08 lower grill looks ok, but the top grill is what kills the looks.

You're going to pass on total value that is the tC as a whole package just because you don't like the grill? Really?

If it's that bad, just find a 05-07 SW tC owner that wants to swap.

 

Yeah, the tC is wonderful, I'm sure you have a decent enough job to afford a new car where your payments are going to be $300-400, just pinch some pennies the month before you buy, hang out the forums here, learn about some sweet products, (stuff from bluebat, Doc I, and the TRD parts) and then you'll have a few bones in your pocket to make your car a little unique. Plus, we have the Classifieds section here for people to sell off their used parts. I got my badgeless VRD off of here for $100 shipped. And it was still in the VRD packaging when I got it. The guy never even opened it.

 

o no im pretty sure im going to get the 08 no matter what. i love the fact that its so affordable yet customizable. plus this forum really makes a newbi like me feel welcome. i was just wondering if anyone has ever asked the dealer they went to if they could swap out the grilles for them. but the vrd grille is freaking awesome

 

get the fig grille also good choice easy to install and well looks amazing

 

I asked if they could change the grill out for me and they said they could not.......but were happy to sell me a grill for 07.........just go with VRD or FIG grille..........both are awsome.........I have VRD in mine and it fits and looks really good.........many of hte guys here inthe NW have the FIG grille.......it also looks perfect.

I think the VRD grille is the cleanest looking in my opinion.

 

I hated it at first, but after a few weeks, it kind of grew on me I think I like it because the material used, when clean, looks dark dark black Or maybe its just me trying to justify my reasons for not changing the whole grille hehehe

 

I don't mind the top grille - don't see why it's so hated. What I really like is the 08 bottom grille, though. Too bad my 08 didn't come with it - the OEM fog lights apparently have to be used with the earlier model year lower grilles...
