push start install (now with DIY!!1!)
#22
pardon me this is my first diy....im trying to get a wiring diagram together to make this easier but let me know if anyone has questions.
first pull off the two bezels around the stereo and the bezel around the gauges. then unscrew the screws that hold the dash together, there should be six
just push up on the dash near the panel until it pops off.
pull off the panel below that to get to the fuse area
and the lower panel of the steering column.
and the panel to drill in to
(all these panels just pull off)
now get ur button (this is the s2k button until i can get a trd one)
and drill where you want the button. make sure that its not too big, you dont want it falling though. just trace the button on the panel and drill just a few millimeters smaller
the actually wiring is not complex but involves a relay for the 2 starters we have.
heres the starter.
now pop everything back on, test and enjoy!
questions?

How does the push button start work when you still need a key? Do you just turn the key to on, then hit the button?
I am just asking since I have only seen push button start with a smart key.
Thanks!
