Default Highway 210 accident

Hey guys im not sure if everyone has heard about the accident that happen on the nite of the 15th. Well i always go out to the rockville meets and i always hear about alot of people going down to 210 to race but its just to far for me to drive. Story goes... two cars lines and did their burnouts and then raced. once the cars left the line all the people circled around the starting line. a white crown vic came through at a high speed with supposedelly his lights off and plowed into the group of people. 7 people were killed instantlly and 1 other person died later in the hospital.

See im the kind of person that likes the occasion race so my opinion maybe a little biased.

All of the news has put all the blame on street racing!! That is complete bullspit!!! If you are driving and you see smoke that you cant see through, why the f**k would you keep going! The speed limit on that road is 55 so this person was probably going atleast 60. Also why in your right mind not have you lights on!!! I just get so annoyed about how they put all the blame on street racing and that should crack down on this. I think the person that was driving the crown vic should be convicted of mutiple vehicular man slaughter. Oh and what a surprise... they cant find the driver of the crown vic. F'ing stupid.

Default Do it at the track, not in the streets...

Spoken like a true teenager who has been programmed by Hollywood.
“I WANT”… to race my car on public highways. Legality, Responsibility, common sense has no place in the thought process. Rumor has it that the Crown Victoria had it’s lights out, not true according to several witnesses. Smoke conditions were unknown but what street racer would not take the opportunity to warm up his tires? The Crown Victoria came around a turn at between 55 and 60 mph and hit the spectators that had all ran into the road to get a better look at the race down the straight away. They were standing in the road with their backs to the oncoming traffic. Borderguy881 wants enforcement for a possible 60 mph speed violation, but the cause of the tragedy should walk scott free like O.J.
Yes all right-minded people and the media want the people who caused this to be held responsible for the 8 deaths, the racers and the organizers and all the lookouts because they all conspired together to break the law and killed 8 people.
They have interviewed the driver of the Crown Victoria and his passenger, they can’t find the racers. Sorry that you are so annoyed Borderguy, I hope the next racing deaths are your girlfriend and your best friend, that way you might learn what responsibility is. Until then, I hope you never exceed the 55 mph law or you would be such a hypocrite!

A Life lost is a life lost period. The lesson That should be taken from this in any event is NO STREET RACING!! That is what Tracks are for..

Another one I heard about was someone on abandoned airstrip went air born off the Berm at end of runway with no exterior lights. No survivors. No time to react when they realized that the runway was gone and they were airborn. FATALITIES INVOLVED!!!

Please be responsible if you want to Race and locate a track. Englishtown in Jersey used to charge 25 a car on saturday and all they required was a basic setup including Helmet

Please be responsible and use a track for Racing! would hate to see any one die irresponsibly like that!

First, let me preface by saying I don't street race because I personally don't want to and if I wanted to race, yes, I would go to MIR or something.

With that, I don't place ownece for the event on the street racers themselves as much as those who chose to run into the street and not be aware of the possiblity of traffic coming up behind them. Now I know you say "How dare you blame the victims" but those victims choose to be there, choose to run into the street, and choose to not pay attention to traffic.

If the Crown Vic's lights were off, that is bad and those people had less warning of his approach. If his lights were on, people could've moved. Since the street racers themselves didn't kill or injury anyone, they were not responsible for this event. You could say they were indirectly responsible because if they weren't racing, no one would be watching and no one could get hurt, but as I said, those spectaters made the choose to watch and run into the street.

Just shows you need to pay attention to your environment, surroundings and not over dirve your head lights.

I got my license 2 years ago and I was shocked at how much I thought I know about driving.

At about 3 AM early this morning, five young men were killed when the gray 2008 BMW they were riding in flew off the end of a runway's 85-foot embankment near Ocala, FL. The accident happend on the runway of the exclusive "fly-in" community of Jumbolair Aviation Estates, where John Travolta happens to live.

Police say the guys were apparently racing the unidentified (and from the photos online, unidentifiable) BMW, but don't know if another car was involved. Skid marks at the end of the runway indicate the driver attempted to stop, but was going too fast. The car sailed 200 feet before hitting a tree, breaking into pieces and catching fire. Authorities say the engine was actually ripped from the car in the crash.

Get off your soapbox about street racing. I don't want to hear you sling your sht about how wise you are mr. 50 year old. I'll continue to drive in whatever manner i'd like! If i'm such a foolish "kid" I'll surely win the darwin award, and i'll be just another story on the internet. Not likely. thanks for your worthless input and wish of death though..... bye.

this guy who went to our school came back to our autotech shop on friday telling us he just lost his best friend that night. he said he had to pull his friends pieces out of the road. man that must be tough. to tell you the truth, i cannot imagine this happening but this goes to show why street racing is illegal.

In your 2 to 3 years of driving, have you learned that watching a street race constitutes a ticket that carries enough points for you to lose your license?

They have the driver of the crown victoria by the way. He is 20 years old. Looks like even at 20, you can still make a huge mistake driving. Perhaps thats something you should take into consideration before you make comments like you have in this thread.
