Sorry in advance...I searched for a bit, but couldn't find the answer I'm looking for. I bought an 05 BSP xb recently that will go to my son in about 6 months. I plan on putting some 18's on it this weekend, since I have a fairly new set of 205/40/18's sitting in the garage from a car I recently got rid of. Unfortunately, the rims are 5 lug, so they won't work, but no matter. At any rate, my question is this...the xb has what I assume to be the TRD sport springs...is there a way for me to confirm this? All I can tell you is that they are all white, & are definitely not coil-overs. The wheels appear to be Scion 15" Alloys, wrapped in 205/65/15 Good Year rubber:
If I run 18's & the 205/40 rubber, will I face any rubbing issues? Do I need to be worried about a particular offset? +38 & +42 seem to be most common, but I'm not sure what is recommended. I'd like to go with 18's, if possible, especially since I already have the tires. I'm looking mainly at Sportmax 001's, 503's, or a different assortment of Black/polished Drag versions...but I'll let him decide what he likes best, I suppose. I don't want to go too expensive, since the boy will probably curb rash them all in the first couple months of driving, anyway. At any rate, like I said I'd like to go with the 18s if I can manage it...I went with 17" Koenigs on my last Jetta & was never quite happy with them. Sorry again, if this is a repeat/redundant post. Thanks for any help...//TJ
When you bought the car did you get the TRD spring/strut package? You would know if you requested that as an add on part, if you get 18's its gonna ride pretty rough, especially with our weak suspension...

I bought it used, so I'm not sure what it's riding on. Is there an easy way to tell? Yeah, I know the 18's will ride rough compared to the 15's, but I'm not too bright & I like the looks of the 18's much better. Are the coil-overs worth the extra $$? Will it really improve the ride that much?...//TJ
From what I hear yes, plus the ability to adjust is awesome, though with 18's I'm not to sure you will have much room to play around with...I know there is a good sale on the ksport coilovers right now on here, might check them out, been hearing good things about them...
PM DRFlickner for pricing, if I can locate the thread I will post it for you
