iPod
Randomly my ipod classic will just stop playing momentarily then resume right where it left off. It's only for maybe half a second, and nothing happens to reflect there was a problem; the ipod doesn't light back up, the car stereo doesn't lose track info, nothing. Not sure if it is an ipod problem or a car problem yet, but I have never had it cut out while listening to with headphones. It could be an issue with the latest ipod software; I have no clue. I was just curious if anyone had experienced anything similar.
The iPod Classic has a hard drive.
It also has RAM, I think it's 32MB or 64MB.
It has to load songs into RAM when you play them, so it will always have a time when it needs to do this form the hard drive and may do what you're saying.
If you rip at higher bitrates, it happens more often too.
Also also, if you change songs a lot, it has to load and cache so this is normal, unless I'm not getting your issue...

OK as long as it's nothing major. I just wanted to make sure my ipod isn't dying or there is something wrong with my Scion. If it's just a latency issue then I can understand, and maybe it will even be worked out in an update. Thanks for the replies!
*gasp* How'd you guess my name?? Not fair!
Hrm you said classic and I was thinking of the newer iPod actually lol. What generation is your iPod? If you could tell me that then I'd know which you're referring to

whoa what the heck? What do they call the OLD school iPods then? I wasn't even aware of the fact that they came out with an iPod called the iPod Classic..it seems they put a new one out every 2 months!
I have a 5th Generation iPod with video (the generation prior to the iPod classic). I have the 64 GB one which what the high end one till they did the product refresh and came out with the 80GB one. Anyway I had a lot of issues personally with the 1.1.1 firmware upgrade to the latest 1.3 and see if it gets better. Once I went to 1.2 the old problems went away.

I'm still on 1.0.3 PC and mine works fine in both of my tC's (160GB), I never feel like updating it because then I have to reformat it to sync it with my Mac. Takes forever to delete then upload 90GB of crap onto these things
.
Too bad the new iPods don't use firewire anymore huh?
They had to switch to USB to be more Windows friendly since most Window machines don't have firewire. Why, its beyond me since firewire still kicks USB's ****.

As for the previous poster as least under windows you can load a new firmware on your iPod without having to reformat the iPod so I would think you could do the same under then mac.
