Can a vortech trim supercharger head be swapped for the v5f
I want to know if anyone has been able to do a vortech head swap with a v-1 s trim or even a v-2 to replace the carb legal and low cfm trd vortech v-5 f trim supercharger.
I've read about people rebuilding their chargers but nothing like what you're suggesting. I scoped this link out: http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...=SUPERCHARGERS
It would be awesome if you could just upgrade the charger to a gnarlier one!

i emailed vortech about something similar to this..i think the TRD is an F-trim and i inquired about swapping to a G-trim..been two weeks and no response from them.

Forget them returning your email, probably won't reply since they assume your are under TRD warranty.
It may upset their biz agreement with Toyota I imagine the boardroom meeting where TRD rep says to Vortech rep "I will give you the contract but one of the caveat is to deny TRD customers any form of alterations or modifications supplied from your current line of products and accessories even if they are aware of losing their warranty... all replacement or expendable s/c parts must be strictly ordered through scion dealers, comprende si?"
Vortech rep says "whatever you say boss, you da man!" while looking at the check amount on the table
I'm interested too as I find the V-1 S/C trim mighty delicious I guess the trick is to see if the s/c mounting bracket points would fit (the bracket at starter motor) and if it uses the same 3 prong coupler to attach to the drive shaft.
I do hope it can be swapped out seriously....

A: Collect them, melt them, make it into a tyre and call it a GoodYear.
yeah i figured it might be something along those lines...
and i thought it might be a more friendly swap if i stuck to the v-5 series and just upgraded the trim. the new blower costs too much to buy just to try out lol
it sure would be nice to have an insider from vortech help us out
My thoughts exactly!
