Default tC Speaker Sizes?

Hey I've yet to get my car but I plan on putting in some component speakers. Does anyone know which size is needed? Which component speakers does everyone recommend for sufficent bass (not as loud as a sub) and clear highs?

the interior speakers are 6.5 and 5.25... and as for speakers, i like both the JL and infinity... but it also depends on which head unit you run the speakers on... (alpine emphasizes their highs a bit too much...)

i hate when all you hear is bass, i believe that the most important aspect of any stereo is the ability to hear the high, mid range, and bass. Clarity is very important to me. I have seen people put 12's in 5 gallon buckets so their car could 'bump'. I would rather be able to hear no distortion that be heard 2 blocks away. It seems like a better idea to spend a few extra bucks and go for nice sound, not just loud sound. But to each his own.

What type of speakers are you running then? What's a good deck that allows you to adjust multi-bands and not just 'bass and treble'?

if you took my comment the wrong way, then i apoligize.I feel there is more to hooking up a stereo than getting an amp, subs, and turning it up loud. From my experiance, you can tune from the amps even if you don't have an eq.

basically this is a simple explination

1 make sure you setup the filters (hi or low depending on what your powering)

2 turn the gain on the amps all the way down to zero

3 turn the stereo to the loudest that you will ever turn it up to

4 adjust the gain on the amps untill you have a sound you are happy with and that doesn't distort

from that point on, you can make smaller adjustments on treb and bass, but you will know your system will sound great even when you turn it up loud.

it takes a litle more time to tune it,, but it is worth it

my old car had infinity kappa speakers inside powered by a pheonix gold 50x4
and a single 10" solobaric in a '91 accord.

i hope this was helpful, and again i didn't want to ____ anyone off

Default tC speaker sizes

The sizes are 6.5 and .75 to 1" tweeter and 5.25" rear. As to what to run for components. I have hear it said the threre are some conversations that you will never win.

1) Politics
2) Religion
3) Pizza toppings
and
4) Loud speakers

It is very personal, what sounds good to you. Over the years I have had my favorites, ADS, Focal, Dyn, and Morel. I will also say that we (Memphis Car Audio) has really worked on our components for 2004 / 05. We are also awarded the 2004 Manufacture of the year. An award we took from JL they have had that award for the last four years and should be proud of themselves. For us we have two very nice sets of components. The first is our MCSQ6.5 and 5.25 a set worthy of being compared to some of the afore mentioned brands. The Second is the SYNC6, SYNC5 and SYNC8 thats right an 8" set of components :o. I like the combination of the MCSQ6.5 up front and the SYNC5 in the rear. The SYNC components have a tweeter mounted in the center of the mid, but it can be removed to mount it in a factory location. Find A dealer near you and give them a try. Most important of all enjoy what ever you buy.

I plan on changing my stock speakers with Diamond D661A components for the doors and also in the rear in 5 1/4",,is it true that I will need to get speaker adapters so that they will fit right?

Question.

if i were to buy a "good" set of front and back set of components, a "good" amp, and a "good" pair of two 10' subs, would i be able to use the factory installed pioneer thats comes with the ipod upgrade. and still get good sound?

Yes. The front speakers are 6.5" normally, and the rear are 5 1/4". I'm pretty sure you need spacers for most aftermarket speakers anyways.

For 6.5" spacers/adapters, visit www.yoursciontc.com and head to the audio section. There will be a sticky topic by Alpman, who sells MDF spacers and amplifier wiring harnesses.

My personal opinion is that the stock HU doesn't have enough sound shaping options to put aftermarket speakers to use. It doesn't have RCA outs either, so you'd have to buy an amp wiring harness. Just follow the same directions I listed above for the spacers to find Alpman's add-an-amp harness thread.

I'd consider a new HU one of the first things to do. Who knows, it may be enough for your likings. I'm a musician though, so I would appreciate some "cleaner" components. The cymbal reproduction right now makes me sad.

just FYI, dont bother with the rear speakers. just get some kick @ss components for the front, prob even get something a little better since you dont have to buy speaks for the rear. The front is the most important for sound, the rear is just fill. The stock rear speakers will do just fine for fill....

You will definitely need spacers. Even then, it's a big if. Mandos has fit EU-700s in his front door panels, and they're 3.5" mounting depth. You may want to contact him for his opinion. What speakers are you getting that are that big?

I'm waiting on a pair for the front and rear from Alpman at yoursciontc.com.
http://www.yoursciontc.com/forums/in...showtopic=5506

You can get a pair of front door spacers from edesignaudio.com for 6.5" speakers if you don't need the rear.
