Default Window tint

I was thinking of getting my windows tinted on my new xB to fight off the AZ summer heat. Which windows are already tinted? Should I have those made darker or is standard sufficient.
I remember years ago they used to put that film on that bubbled so badly I had to rip it all off. Do they do it differently today and is it easy to clean?

Here's a tip....35% is lighter and 20% is darker than the stock rears....So look for a place that has a 25% or a 30% in their stock. If they do, than they're more than likely good people for the job...Just make sure the film and service have a lifetime waranty....For the front two only it should cost between $40 and $75....
Hope this helps, good luck...

I've owned a window tinting business for 14yrs and have been installing for 19yrs. I know all the films and which will go bad. You want to find someone thats using Madico Charcool films. I tinted my Xb with 35% and all of them. It helps darken the rears and the 35% on the doors is legal in AZ. The Charcool film are a new extruded film which has no metals in the film so it will not reduce the range of your antenna in the rear windows and the are warranteed for life against bubbling, fading, color change, peeling and delaminating. Oh, and one more thing. The XB's have no felt strips on the inside window rubbers, its just rubber and when dirt builds up in them it will scratch the film. Make sure you find a shop that knows this and ads the felt strips to your rubber scrapers. Do not allow them to trim them out, you will get wind noise.

tintsem, i was going to have my windows tinted in a couple weeks by house of tints, do you know if they do the felt strips? they have some nice pictures of jobs they've done, just wanted to see if you had some feedback about them. thanks. they were going to charge me 180 for limo all the way around or 130 i believe for just the rear windows limo. price didn't sound bad, but i haven't really compared. oh, and it was lifetime warranty i think, they also said if i get a fix-it ticket for the limo they'd take it off for free and give a discount to reapply. sound good?

I got 5% over the rear factory tinted windows, 20% on my driver/passenger doors, and 5% on the windscreen/shade. check my sig for pics.

well in the xb on the back window the tint is in the glass and not on the glass so there will be no bubbles

Default window tint

Thanks for all the advice. I think for now I will just tint the 2 front windows to match the rest.

I just got that done today, and it really darkens the car all around.
I had 20% sunguard performance slate put on, and it matches very well.

$160.00 ? Wow thats cheap. We get $210.00 for all the sides and the rear. I'll post some pics of my Xb. I did our logo on the rear and flames on the sides all in tint.
