Default slow response time?

well i was just entering the highway and at 55mph i down shifted to 4th from 5th. there was not increase in power wat so ever...
do i need a better intake? CAI? performance exhaust?
my sisters VW 2000 beetle has a better reaction and power then my 09 tC...wtf the clutch on it is f***ed up too...

good thing it was a Prius that cut off...he was only going 50 anyways...lol

the response shouldn't be that little, but at 55 mph, you should have shifted to 3rd for maximum power response, which is good all the way up to about 70 some mph.

if your not in the right gear, you don't get the right response, go figure. and no, your sister's beetle does not have more power than the tC.

lol my sisters beetle is turboed with a performance exhaust system. so it sounds faster =p
hp is about the same.

the car is still new i dont want to slam anything right now. so im only limited myself 1 level down shifts but i just wasnt happy on what i got out of it...

a better intake would help right?

guess i have to use simpler sentence structure for those that cant read very well. =/

all the manuals that i have driven down shifting even if its only 1 level down i at least felt some power.

so is it the intake or exhaust thats is limited me?

Oh. Meh, I fail. Reading comprehension loses. Sad day.

Regardless, 4th or 5th aren't for xtreem low speed powah. Read up on our gear ratios; 3rd tops out at about 78.

I get 28mpg keeping to about 2500-3000 rpm in any given gear, and sticking to 5th if I don't have to accelerate.

lol every forum iv been on someone is always bashing on someone...

yeah i usually stay below 3krpm. i read the best speed to shift on is 15, 25, 35, 45...and i hit those every 3krpm. unless im going up a steep hill. going down hill is fun. feels like you got turbo =p but without the noise...

i heard its ok to be on a high gear at low speeds unless you dont use it to speed up. just use it to maintain the speed.
i find my friends automatic 300zx running below 1.8krpm at 40mph. i have to be at 5th gear to get that...

The trick is to take it in stride when you know you've been a retard and not make it worse. It takes most of the fun out of flaming.

That sounds about right. Even 3k rpm seems a bit high if you want to get that big mileage. When you're puttering around town, I guess what I go by is: if I can shift into the next higher gear, I do.

Yessir. 5th gear at 40mph is totally fine for us.

lulz.
if you down shifted from 5th to 4th and felt no "increase in power" as your calling it.
...
then you prob shouldve been in 4th gear in the first place.

Yes, yes, aaaaand yes. There is no need for a computerized middle-man between my go pedal and my go engine.
