few AEM f/ic question

I am thinking about getting the F/ic as my engine management. Do i need to get a pnp harness also for it to work with a tC? and where can i get a base map or map to load onto the f/ic cuz i will be doing a street tune... thanks

no sarcasm here. all of your questions could have been answered if you had done a simple search. theres about 10-20 threads about the f/ic. there is no need to start another one that asks the same questions. so either do a search, or get ready to have your thread jacked into a 10 page rant about north korea.

no you dont need to buy/ use a pnp harness, the aem f/ic comes with a universal harness that you can wire yourself by using the instructions included, its not recommended but its possible.

for the base map, idk.

Well as for wiring it yourself, it looks like your an 07/08 from your profile, the 05-06 ecu has a direct wiring guide posted on the aem forums that makes it easy as hell if you have some kind of decent automotive electrical wiring experience, as for the 07-08, i have an 07 and i wired mine myself, jut took a little bit of figuring out using ecu pinouts and the wiring guide from aem. Mine works great with 0 problems, so if you like im sure i could draw up a wiring schematic for the 07-08 based off of how i did it if anyone is interested

...I've heard the wireing of it takes a good 3 hours, so that's about $100 an hour...

you can wire it your self for free, but with tons of wires in there its gonna be a mess and risky.. And oh remember when you have your kit and the aem fic installed you could have issues and wiring the FIC manually will add to those and will be hard to diagnose.. 300 is worth it IMO
