You ever have those moments when you get caught in your other car, or friends car (that is slower than your turbo tC), and some car messes with you and you say to yourself...."Man I wish I had my tC right about now".

I had one of those moments last night when a Brand new 2008 BMW M3 (420hp 8 cyl.) came up on me when I was crusin home in the 350z. I was minding my own business cause I was a little tired. Just came from my boy Clayton's house helping him swap in his transmission into his 05 tC. I was tired, so I was doing about 70 - 75mph, chillin. Then I see some Xeon lights coming up on me fast. He didn't past by, but slowed down right next to me, and then punches it on me. I wasn't going to do anything (I had the cruise control on for crying out loud...lol). I thought, well whatever, turned the cruise off, turned off the VDC, and followed pursuit. I was running behind him, trying to keep up. He slows down a bit, I get over a lane, and we just running. That car was sexy as hell, white, with black chrome lip wheels (looked like 19's or 20's on it).

In the end, he beat me obviously (basically stock 03 Z vs 420hp V8 BMW). He got me about 3 cars on the top end. I would hang with him for a min, and then he would start to pull. But the way he pulled on the Z, he pulled away from the Z about as hard as the tC does......when it was on 7 - 8 PSI that is. That's why I wished I was in the tC. It's on 10 - 10.5 right now, and I would have loved to get the first video of a tC vs the new M3.

I actually got off an exit before he did, but I decided to go to get some MickyD's. There is a gas station across the street from the D's, and there was the BMW I just raced. I hurried up and got my food, rolled over, and talked to the driver. He said the Z was pretty quick (could have just been nice talk). Guy was from Chattanooga, TN. I asked how long he was going to be here, cause I wanted to run home real quick and get my other car. He asked what I had, I said Scion tC. Then he backed out, and said he had to get going home.... Oh, Well.....

2008 M3 would have been a nice Kill List addition.

Yeah, looked it up, and that car is like $60k+ Then he had rims, tint. He said it was stock.

 

He was smart to take off though, you raced him once and challenged him to race you with your other car.. he sensed your tc is faster. Some guys would have taken the offer knowing is just a scion or some dont even know the car yet

 

^^Very true. I didn't look at it that way. Good call. This is probably the one time where I would have liked for the guy to be a semi-d!ck and think...."It's a Camry motor".

That would have made one helluva video....even if I lost (didn't see it being by much IF I did). He was afraid of getting a ticket or something too he said. So...oh well, guess I got to find another M3 somewhere.

 

haha its funny cause i just did something like that about 2 nights ago. i was in my friends type r and an evo and a worked sti pulles up to me and starts laughing. so a red light came up and the sti pulles in front of the evo, and does his launch control so i rolled down my window and said r u kiddin me. awd>fwd. so he said fine then a roll. i said fine. He rolled to about 20 and i was i 1st at about 6,000? he honked and i spun hard! but 2nd i grabed a lil better pulled next to him and by the end of third i had the flashers on lol. yes the type r is no close to stock but he was mad cause he got beat by a car that cost half what his did.

 

Can we change the title to "Man, I wish I had my turbo right now..." ?

 

i can relate. i was flying the millennium falcon, when this tie fighter came up and gave me the old empirial ricer flyby. so then i looked over at chewy and said "can you believe this douchebag"? and then chewy said, "aahhhggg". and i was like hell motha____in yeah"! so then i kicked it into hyperspace on that fool. thats when i realized, im a big man.


...in all seriousness, you would have probably hung in for a little bit. he would have pulled on you, but deffinetly not walked away. would have surprised him im sure.

...in all seriousness, you always think the other car is going to pull on me when I don't give you a vid, despite that you don't know what it's running either. So, whatever. He would have pulled when I hit the speed limiter...

Below that....doubt it.

That's why I'm trying to find the C6 Vettes, M3's, and anything else with 400hp stock or close to it to get on vid, so you can hush up.....


Preston beat his friends new 335i, which beat a C6 Vette, could have been a C5, don't remember.


PS.....I wasn't implying that I would walk on the 08 M3 by the way. Not until I get the car tuned that is.

 

Oh, just another little tid bit of info from this past Saturday night. Vinny and Preston were getting called out left and right. I was at the movies watching Dark Knight,, but they were at the usual spot.

Got called out by

- the same yellow WRX that we all smashed on

- a Blue STI that suppose to be worked and putting down 400whp

-a GT Mustang on 150shot

Vinny couldn't find Preston once they hit the interstate he said. But he ran all 3 of the cars above. The WRX got beat. The STI got beat (not sure why that is if he is supposedly putting down 400). And the GT Stang, Vinny said he lost to, by a car. He was on the back bumper of the GT Stang with the 150 spray. Said it dynoed like 270whp.


This is all what Vinny told me over the phone. I wasn't able to make it out that night.

 

all you have to do to get me to "hush up" is take your a$$ to the track. you can make all the silly ghost rider, ruling the streets of nashville videos you want. it doesnt mean squat to me. just want to see some track numbers.

 

Then you can send me money for a trailer to take it to the track (about an hr away), that way I can beat on it real good for you. Also, throw in the 15x7/8 wheels with the MT's mounted on. Once you do that, I'll take it to the track for you. Until then, the best I can give you is the HKS turbo timer 1/4 mile simulation reading 13.01 @ 107 with the stock Scion tires. Figured it couldn't be off much since the trap speed is dead on with what I ran two years ago at the track on the other turbo and crappy tune/tires.

Patience bro...it's a virtue. Not going to the track again until the tune on it is in place. I just might skip 12's altogether.

look travis. its not personal. but wen you consider that a bone stock m3 runs 12.6@113mph. its hard to imagine that he wouldn't pull on you. as far as sending you money.

about the slicks. i remember you saying something about having family in florida. next time your down, let me know so we can meet at moroso. i'll let you take as many passes as you want on them.

and about skipping 12's all together. lets not get ahed of ourselves.
