First I wanna know what is a good size monitor for the headrest? I heard that 6" is a good size and doesn't look over sized.

Second, does anyone know where to get some monitors for cheap? I found one on eBay made by Pyle for $74.99

alpine makes some awsome monitors (pkg-m780) that you can usually pick up for a decent price. even sony and pioneer monitors can be found for around $150-$200 each. what's your video source?

I have these and they have been going strong for about a year now.

 

^^^ I had those exact screens before I got my 9.5". They're still going strong in the wife's car. Can't go wrong for the money.

Relatively cheap Power Acoustiks from eBay. Haven't had a single problem with them. They're nice, because they have built in IR transmitters for the zone 2 headphones.

 

did you do the install yourself? like cut up the headrests?

 

No, they come pre-installed in headrests. You'd never fit anything over a 6" in the stock headrest without demolishing them.

Putting them in the car involves cutting the factory hog rings at the back of the seat, swapping the headrests, and running the wires. Takes a leisurely hour.

all they have are the 7.

 

cool thing about the tC headrests is the headrest posts are hollow... so depending on the thickness of the cord, you could prob just run em down the shaft.

if you don't wanna get that crazy just run em down the side of the post, like these:

 

Yeah, I don't mind cutting the wires if I need to to get them through the post...but what's the best way to get the wire down the seat? I don't like any wires showing...

Thanks for that picture though! What is the bracket for the screen screwed to? I see screws but I thought headrests are just foam.
