Started the other day and I can't duplicate but when I shut the car off it beeps twice like when I unlock the doors. The lights don't blink just the beep beep. It does have a non factory alarm that the dealer installs in all their cars so maybe thats it acting up. Also doesn't matter if its day or night meaning does it when lights are on and off.

 

I have heard mine beep....on occassion when turning off the car as well....never figured out what it was though...perhaps others will know and help out....but I feel your pain

Nope definitely not the only one. I can't duplicate it either...and always wondered what it was. Hard to get it fixed when we don't know what it is right?

 

Those with the beep, do you have the Toyota alarm installed?

No beep with my xB, and I don't have the Toyota alarm......I had a Viper 5002 installed.

 

I have the KARR system that the dealer installed. I wanted the factory system but the dealer already installs this system in all their cars. Stupid because they charge you for it even though you didn't want it.

 

I don't have an alarm at all.

Do you think you could be inadvertently pressing the unlock button on the key whilst turning the engine off? Maybe that causes the beep-beep, but somehow doens't effect the lights...

 

I tried that last night and when you do hit the button the hazard lights flash on the dash just like they do on the outside. When this happens on its own I get no flashing lights just the beep beep

 

Not sure about you ckd, but the beep I get when I turn off the car is often a faint beep too. Not a louder one like the chirp from pressing the unlock or lock buttons...which I frequently do when starting my car LOL

 

yep mine is the same avon. Its as if another car is next to you unlocking their car at the same time you turn your car off.

 

I have my aftermarket radio doing this. Safety feature tho
