Default Ground Effects: Did you buy?

Compare the one with the kit and the one without.

IT looks a bit more mean.. milder in other words.

My tC is underway... do you think i can still ask my dealer for the kit ?
Im going down Toyota this weekend but just wondering now if i can ask for it.

Is it a good buy? I want it looking low without having to drop it down...the fact its coming from toyota the grounds will match the paint.

Dont like it dropped, panzy low riders slowing down on each bumps hahaha just ram it and burn rubba!!!!!!!!

I personally do not like the kit. There is a separation/joint between the kit and the body. I think the line looks bad. I have seen it in person on an AP and SW. The SW had a dark grey joint and it looked out of place.
I think the front part looks good but it still has the joint space.
Have you test driven the tC yet? It is low but I have decided to get the TRD springs because it makes the vehicle look much better. I am no racer either. I still own my Tacoma 4X and always detested those who had to slow for speed bumps. I may soon be part of that group. No worries.
Up to you I guess. To each his own. Blah blah blah

moved....

btw, i like the look, just not the method of mounting it (ie. the gaps)
and you'll do better ordering on-line and having it painted/put on at a body shop...about half the price....

To me it looks too much the same as the original. I know eventually( when a decent one comes out), Ill put a body kit on the tC. Because of this my thinking was why pay close to 1k for the lip kit that I'm going to replace in a year with something different.

The kit looks good on the dark colors, but on the light colors the line between the car and the kit is too obvious. IMHO
Oh and no I won't be getting it. But to answer your other question the actually install the kit at the dealer anyway, so yeah just tell them you want it. check on mcgeorge's parts or scionpartspeople on the net to see prices of the kit though first.

I think it looks good. If you look at that kit and complain about gaps then you've obviously never put a real body kit on a car before. Body ktis fit like total ____ no matter where they're from short of a GOOD company like Bomex or Wings West. All these eBay kits and stuff that people are touting for super cheap usually require major fabrication to fit and can't be returned. In addition to that they're not painted, so you have to match paint color exactly. Often times you'll spend $800 to get a kit painted. I had a Bomex kit on an EK Civic coupe and I spent $900 getting it painted professionally.

I think it's awesome that Toyota makes a simple, tasteful kit for our cars that comes painted and ready to install from the factory. You can go to the dealer and ask for the kit separately. If I remember correctly I think it's around $900-$1000 to purchase separately, which being as it's painted, isn't too bad. I've seen the same kit online for cheaper, as with other things though. You might want to check out some of the sites that people post on here in the tC Aero Parts forum to find it cheaper than a dealer will give it to you for.
