I found a new performance shop today. I was driving down the road and happend to look out the window and saw BSP tc lowered. So I stoped in to this place called Zero Point Industries. After going in to talk to the owner I found out that the tc was turbo, running 12 psi @325hp and 125 shot of nos. They custom build turbos and manifolds. When I get my taxes back I am going to get my tc lowered, and a custom exhaust made. Once they start production of the turbo The cost is about 2500.00 installed. Right now they are running the turbo set-up on 3 tc's and are still doing some road test.

Turbo'd tC...hmmm that sounds like a good race for me.

So I am guessing clutch work, bottom end work, injectors, standalone..blah, blah... that should be a nice penny spent there.

What kinda turbo was used?

 

2500 installed? dayam thats cheap. yeah, what does this 2500 dollars pay for?

 

im new to the aftermarket gig.... how much work is actually required for a stock tc to house a turbo, and function properly

 

It is a 16G Mitsubishi turbo, however you can upgrade to bigger turbos. Lots of clutch work, they said that was the first thing that gave out, but the engine has held up very well. I dont know exactly what it included b/c i had my girl friend waiting in the car and i did not want to keep her waiting but if you go to the web site you can get on thier forum and ask them.

most all thier parts are custom made not orderd, they make there own turbos, they just use the housing, they build thier own manifolds for each car, and i am sure they do alot more but you would need to contact them. I will stop by monday and try to get a list of all that it includes

Ok...we might want to clarify a few things first. Our grey Tc has nitrous on it. Yes its a 125 shot. The turbo kit is in the development stages and has NOT been released yet, however we are looking at sometime in the next few weeks. The kit will not retail that low however a final price has not been set yet.

The basic kit will run a 16g turbo, fmic, emanage, custom log style manifold, ect. There will be a 20G upgrade, fmic upgrade, and a tubular manifold upgrade availible at additional cost. Our car has not been dyno'd yet. The car that was refered to was the scionspeed car I believe. It has dyno'd 327whp @ 12psi with a comperable kit and that is where the clutch gave out. Our grey car holds the 125shot without slippage.

We are in the process of making an aluminum intake manifold as well since the plastic stock one is IMO sub par.

Holy blue/purple *****... How the hell can you see with the ____ being so purple?

 

They are not so purple, Id say more blue than purple if they are the ones i saw the other night...there very nice a future mod of mine

 

They really arent that purple. We have them in several of our cars. Its an unbelieveable difference.

 

Well even ____ty 14000K series ____ is better than Halongen, but they are still not anything good besides show. Gives off the blue/purple tint not actual light. So I am assuming this is for show more than functionality. Cause if you were going for actual HID's you would get closer to 4000K more so than moving up the spectrum that just APPEAR brighter than actually BEING brighter.

 

Ride in front on me one time and tell me that the 10K's arent brighter.

 

Brighter than what? The regular Scion ____.. if so, then you did not read my reply. I said even the crappiest HID kits are brighter than stock tC halogen bulbs.

Also, if you did a retrofit HID in your reflector based housing..then riding in front of you would be a horrible decision. If I felt like being blinded, then I would just stare at a xenon bulb.

But 10k is ____..it is not a personal attack, it is just fact. Because as the "K" goes up, the lumen/brightness goes down. Atleast do a 6k philips kit.

I mean ____ just put a 6k bulb in one side and leave the 10k bulb in the other and you can tell your 10k is nothing compared to even a 6k bulb. A 4k would completely embarrass the 10k in performance. Which is what I have a 4200k OEM HID setup on my car.

 

Im willing to bet that a 10K HID kit does more then APPEAR brighter then a stock BMW or Lexus HID kit. JMO

 

I will take you up on that bet, ____ and I'll double it.

BMW's have some of the best HID lights. Check it out, their project style lights used in 5 series and 3 are by far one of the top if not the best HID's on the market. Lexus reflector based is decent, but still much better than a retrofit kit bought and placed in a stock halogen housing that is not properly setup for HID's.

And second if your HID kit is set in your halogen based housing I guarantee that is the other reason why it LOOKS brighter. Cause your lighting is spread all over the damn place. Take a picture, I am sure you don't have a clear cutoff, instead just a wide array of light spread over the road. Also, with tinted colored bulbs that you have you can't, listen to me CAN'T have brighter bulbs than 4100-4400K OEM HID's. How can your 10k, which is worse as the K temperature goes up is better than light that is much more comparable to sunlight? It is fact, not fiction.... pick up a science book and that will be your answer to this question. But if you still are skeptical, take a picture of your lights. Show the beam battern as well as the light output on a road.
