Thats alot of rpm. Maybe shift prior to 5k, I dont see a reason to go above that, other than to blow a engine. The car should run a little on the rich side, atleast mine does with the s/c.

If the engine was going to blow then toyota would have lowered the rev limiter. Its obviously not running right if it won't rev to redline (and it won't blow unless you miss shift and over rev it past redline).

OP, is your ride throwing a check engine light? Not sure if this would help but have you tried disconnecting the battery for a few mins and then allowing the vehicle to idle?

sounds like o2 sensor isn't reading the fuel trims correctly, watch for a check engine light and your gas gauge

check the trd fuel line that you had to replace. You have a major fuel leak somewhere. Is there smoke coming out the exhaust?

are you f*#King for real......the motor will not blow if you go to 5k....your a f*&king retard. the reason is for more powers...what the hell do you have a s/c if you only shift before it ever makes real power.

actually, the way our cam lobes are done we lose tq but gain hp after 5200 rpms.

bassically that's right where you want to shift if you want a constant powerband.

Just cause you have a s/c that doesnt mean that you bounce the car off of the rev limiter. lol. And yes you can over rev the motor and threw some valves into the piston. I make power at 2k rpm, it is a supercharger by the way! Dang dude your the retard. 30miles in 3+ gallons.... you seriously f-ed something up.

My suggestion like above stated, make sure the injectors are seated properly. I had this problem and my motor wouldn't go past 4600 and then my car cut off.

And to Dunn, where does he even talk about "bouncing" off of the limiter? If i'm reading correctly, he says he can't shift past 5k. And just because someone shifts past 5k, doesn't mean they bounce. There are some people out there that aren't bad drivers ;)

you know how if you hit the rev limiter(if you keep you foot on it) and it will stay there and bounce off of it.....well at 5500 the motor just dies, the rpm will drop until you lift your foot and hit the gas again. but it will not go past 5500
