Default Which Springs 2 get?

Hi people i'm new 2 this & i got a question & would be grateful 4 anybodys input. I recently jus received my TRD shocks 4 my tC & was wonderin which type of springs would be the best to buy; TRD, Tein S-tech, or Goldline?

The TRD springs r the cheapest ($130-$150 w/shipping) but the drop (1.25") isnt as low as the other 2. Plus outta the 3, TRD is probably the most reliable ryte?!

The TeinS-tech i can get for around $185-$200 w/ shipping, the drop (2.4" front, 2.0" back) is the lowest of the 3, but ive heard that the ride w/ teins outta the 3 r the worst. My friend jus put teins on his tC but i hav yet 2 ride his car so im not sure.

The Goldline springs r probably the most expense of these ($190-$210 w/ shipping), the drop (2.0" front & back) is i think the most reasonable. Goldline was actually my first chose @1st.

I heard trd's weren't that great. I heard really good things about goldlines, but I just ordered Tanabe DF210's for mine Hopefully that helps

Also good to consider:

H&R Sport Springs- 1.4" front / 1.3" rear $179.00

Eibach Springs- 1.4" front / 1.3" rear $223.00

Hotchkis Sport Springs- 1.7" front / 1.9" rear $166.00 (available late March)

Now that I just saw the Hotchkis spring specs.. looks like those are just the right numbers for me.. will be worth the wait!

Tein S-techs are the best, you get the best drop, and if they are installed correctly the ride is the same if not better. ask someone who has them. as far as reliable they come w/ a lifetime warrenty

I'd have to disagree. I had S-Techs in my Matrix and the look of the drop is great, but man what a sh*tty ride. For the most part I was careful of potholes and rough terrain, but at least one strut was blown within a year. Just not worth it IMO.

i just had the TRD springs installed and i love them. i hate when wheels fender tuck, the TRD springs dont do that at all. I love the drop and the fact that corners i could take at 45 mph, i can now take at 65 mph. plus it was $250 installed by the dealership. best bang for the buck.

it is always good to go OEM. TRD has spent millions developing the right equipment for their car... also you will not run into dealership warranty issues with TRD. I just wish it wasnt called turd (TRD) but TDR. Stupid way to acronym IMO. hehe

I just ordered a SW TC with everthing.

I have goldlines and love the look and ride! Front isnt quite as low as some pics of the Stechs Ive seen, but it is very nice. Ride is as good as stock over normal roads, but a little firmer around bumps and tight corners. Very impressed so far.

if you look at the hotchkis numbers, the low drops more than the back..at stock height the rear already appears lower (with a smaller fender gap) so the uneven appearance might even be more noticable.

I did a write up in Corner Carvers I believe for the TRD Springs. You should read that. They are well worth the money. Everyone who doesn't care about there ride, looks at the ride height numbers. Everyone who does cares more about the spring rates, which tell you how the ride is going to be. I suggest comparing those, before the ride height. No one wants to drive around in a hard riding car for years, and no one will want to ride with you either.

Yeah.. for me, pretty much. I think the tein S-techs' drop is a bit too extreme for me.. but with the TRD's i barely notice the drop. The hotchkis seem great because it sounds like just the right drop for what i want. they also lower the car slightly more in the rear than in the front so it doesnt look like your car's takin a nose dive all the time. but i guess it really just depends on what your personal prefs. are.... i'm not in a hurry to have the car lowered so march is good for me. plus i'd like to see pics of them installed before i buy.
