well im going turbo, want some opinions
Well im saleing my nitrous and going turbo.
I have a stage 4 CM clutch, and a F/iC
so I think I am going to go with the Dezod "make your own" signature kit
with a garrett gt3071r. I was wondering which seems to be better in the tC the .48 or the .63 A/R?
also will the 550cc injectors be enough for 8.7psi or do I need to upgrade to the 700's

what hp is your goal? i dont think .48 a/r is available for gt3071r, .63 is the minimum on that turbo.. 550cc is more than enough even for 10psi.. but .48 is a good setup for 250-300hp.. .63 still spools fast for the gt30 but will get you over 400hp
.48 is for their standard turbo.. gt30 is different from their dezod spec turbo, unless they made modifications which i doubt.. but 300-350 go for .63 a/r, you will never be worried of coming short although .48 can get to that hp but prolly on higher boost maybe at least 16psi
ok cool, turbos are kind of new to me I get most of it, but the wastegate thing is a little confusing
so with the 8.7 spring I can boost more but I cant go below 8.7?
also whats a good boost controller, and is 14psi to much for a stock engine with 45k miles?

yeah you cant have a peak boost of lower than 8psi on an 8psi spring.. anything over 10psi of boost is kinda aggressive on a stock motor, you need a good tune with that.. but 350hp goal is an is aggressive, its close to the threshold where your stock internals break.. tune has to be dead on.. with 45k miles on the car i suggest being conservative
350whp on stock motor and stock internals....you don't want your motor to last very long.
10psi...max of 11psi on a stock motor will last probably the life of the car on a good conservative tune.
Unless you plan on building the motor, etc. I don't see the purpose of going with the 'upgraded' turbo from a cost standpoint. The .48 a/r spools up rather quickly and holds boost very well.
With a 8.7psi spring which I believe comes with the kit you can use a MBC to adjust the boost level to 10psi or you can get the 10psi spring and use the MBC to regulate the 10psi so it doesn't overboost and you have consistent 10psi so it doesn't fluctuate between 9 and 11psi.
I traded in my nitrous kit for boost as well.

well eventually i plan on putting in the 2.7L stroker kit from brian crowler probably within 6months of getting the turbo system so i have big plans for the car so i figured id go ahead and get the nice turbo
