Ok for the guys that have done custom headliners where did you get the fabric. Im looking for something wild but not cheesey to go with my ganster theme? I have found a few things I like but everything is 44-45 inches and to cover the entire headliner would take at least 56-60inches.
let me know what you guys have found. If you want to post pics that would be great.
thanks

first go around I got it from jo-ann fabrics, they were having a sale so why not. I bought 4 yards (one yard is 3ft x 6 ft), yeah more than I needed, but always nice to have extra (believe me, once the headliner is done, youll want to add to the doors etc...)
you can see that even at 6 feet wide there isn't much overhang on the sides. This is after cutting it to length (with extra for overhang) and before we ironed it out for install
the second headliner fabric was purchased from a casino supply company
i did my friends xb2. it took about 4 yards to do his headliner, 2 front pillers and 2 middle pillers. came out great btw. we did it with black microsuede(runs for about 10-12 bucks a yard at fabric store) and bought the headliner glue at autozone, it was in a orange can. its really good stuff also, cost about 13 bucks a can i believe. we bought 2 cans of it, but to be on the safe side just buy 3 if your doing your side pillers also. and so far with our 100+ degree weather were having in AZ its holding up perfectly find. (note that are cars in az reach up to like 120+ i believe during the summer time inside)

Im thinking something alittle more luxury or vip. I was thinking cherry blossoms or a cool print like that...?? any help would be great, Ive been to all the fabric places in my area and havent found anything I really like or that would work well.
thanks

yeah, the width sucks, you could have someone with mad mad sweing machine skills butt two lengths together, if they are good, you'll hardly notice the seam. As for it being cotton, I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work.
Just like what lvbitwiz said, it can be done! And honestly, I'd suggest it! It looks so sick!!! I thought you were going to do a suede or smooth leather like material, but have the diamond stitching done to match your seats. That would be another option.
I want embroidery done, but I'm not sure how much it would cost....
I got a sample of a diamond stitch pattern, but its just to much I dont want to overdo it with the pattern, plus I want the headliner to really stand out.

use that fabric and have a thin quilt made and use that for the healiner
it's not hard really. there are 5 press in 'buttons' you need to remove carefully (panel tool) everything else was using a small pick to remove a cover then pliers to squeeze in the retaining clips. search the forum, it's been covered in detail
