Avatar - go see it - there's a plot!
Hey folks,
Avatar was pretty good for a James Cameron Sci-fy actiony, alieny travelouge kind of movie.
If your a regular guy who likes the action, explosions, and general violence, the last 40 minutes are all you.
If you like to watch Travel Channel and see wierd new alien vistas, the first 2 hours are for you.
If you want to watch to alieny blue, psychic, cat people get it on, there's a 30 second scene for you.

take that spoiler off.
This movie is too good to be spoiled. This is the best movie I have ever watched, so mind blowing. This is pretty much the start of a revolutionary experience in hollywood. The type of movie that will bring you into a whole new universe. The type of movie that you will want to watch again. I love this movie.
300 million dollars to make the movie and 14 years in development.

The idea came to Cameron a long time ago, but he chose to delay his ideas until the proper technology was available to him to make his concept come true. So basically, instead of using old style claymotion, he waited till he could use computer technology, just to compare that is.

Nice summary etli. The main plot did have a bit of a seen it before vibe, but this is by far the most visually stunning movie I have seen. if you're going to see it, spring for the 3D version. It actually adds to the movie without pandering to cheezy effects. Things like the opening where the shot is first person and the guy is looking through the glass of his mask, and the subtle reflection from the glass pops off the screen really add to the immersion effect.
The concept was good for the blue people too I think, they aren't psychic. Rather, they have an exposed neural interface that can connect to other blue people, animals, plants, etc for direct brain to brain communication, hadn't really seen that before.
Bottom line, where else can you see floating mountains, space marines, mech suits, and blue cat people riding terrordactyls?
