new or newer cars and non modified cars are excluded in these tests I think. Soooo Im glad I'm stockorific now. They can just get me for too low now, but I'm even on the line on this.

A lot of agencies even have portable smog tester and decible tests in their cruisers next to the M-4's. LOL. I'm pretty sure West Co PD has them, but more agencies have'em now. I'll ask my pops about OC area tonight.

You get the Kirby violation. you have to fix your ish, take it to a CA smog station, pay $100, then go to court with your proof that you fixed your riced out car. LOL.

*OH AND IF YOU GET PULLED OVER AGAIN AND YOUR RICE ROCKET AINT FIXED, YOU GETTIN TOWED SON! That was the threat I got from Ontario PD last year. and beleive me that's the reason why I am stock now.

Cali does this because they have wind blowing in from the Pacific that then butts up against the mountains. The effect is that air kinda sits in a bowl, so even though NYC may pollute more, the air doesn't just hang around the city. FYI, the California state assembly is 63% democrat, 36% republican. Environmental legislation is probably much easier to pass there than NYC. Also, they are in a budget crisis, I'm guessing this is also coincidentally a revenue generator. If it's costing more than it brings in, this program should be cancelled ASAP.

Reason #1,548 why CALI SUCKS! Who in there right mind would still want to live there after all the BS that they are pulling on their tax paying citizens is beyond me.

Yo it wasnt for Cali you wouldnt have the following:
- all the cool mods on your cars that you are already paying higher than anyone else!
- who would set all the trends in the import scene for you
- there would be no hipsters. hahahaha
- we have the best weather out there!
- Our cars dont rust! (sorry hawaii and FL)
- We dont dodge tornados or hurricanes
- Where can you go snowboarding and surfing in 1 day?

So I wouldnt trade CA Love for any other state other than NY. Jay Z got me hooked on movin there.

LOL at kirby's last comment, this is the reason why i keep holding off on boosting my tC because i sometimes run into those alcohol check stops but i can never be too sure if it's a smog one as my car will still pass but you can't never be too certain that you won't come across one when you least expect it.

San Diego! Got a chance to go out there for 6 months for work. After spending 20+ years of Maryland weather, having an apartment on Coronado from Jan - June right on the beach made me almost not come back. Where else can you go surfing, skiing, and desert hiking all within 3 hours? Plus TJ is 20 minutes away (this was before the recent drug cartel stuff).

I still find it funny that all the big aftermarket import companies are there but none of the stuff they make is legal in-state.
