LOL sorry everyone...you guys must be like "where is this fool? did he fall off the face of the earth?" Pics are uploading as I post this...sorry for the massive delay but its been wet out, and when it hasn't been wet I've been swamped.
absolutely beautiful! nice job on the pics btw, you can really see the sharpness and color of the beam!
these are the projectors i will be using on my next retro!
Thanks man, but I'm a noob at photography lol. If anyone wants to school me on how to use a camera...hit me up.
As for the projectors, FX-R are an awesome choice. They are affordable and some of the best bi-xenons out there. As far as I've seen, they are some of the widest beams around. However, there's some guy who got his hands on some 2010 RX projectors, and he is thinking of upgrading to them from his FX-Rs...here is a link.
Bad a$$...Wish I had a clue on how to get this done
Your best bet is to get someone to do a retrofit for you...unless you got *****...lol. Was gonna do it myself but I'm glad I had a guy do it for me.
Doing a retro usually involves: hacking up your reflector bowl, mounting the projector in the bowl with four screws, hoping that the projector is aimed correctly, correcting the aim if it's not (big headache, esp. rotational), then sealing up the housing well to prevent moisture issues. All one big pain in the a$$.
My guy uses a different method...he engineers a mounting bracket underneath the projector so it's not just four screws holding up the projector...I didn't really like the four screw method.
