Default " The BOX" Not just for little people

Hey is this thing roomy or what! Being in my mid thirties and growing up in the mini truck era, i was immediatley drawn to this funny looking non areo dynamic mini box. Upon arriving at the dealer ship I was anticipating driving of in my new Box.

Afetr a short disscussion with the all migthy salespeson, the famous line was spoken " why dont you take her for a spin"! This is Great if your a normal size person. You dont go through the anxity of, OH LORD am I gonna fit in this thing , will the seatbelt go around me and will the door close !

Before i go any further I 'll let you know I'm 6'3" 360 lbs. Now Im no Jabba the Hutt
just a big guy who likes small cars. Small, Low, Slow and Customized thats what im talkin about.

Well to my schock as I rolled into the Box i was in disbelief of all the room. Steering wheel not rubbing legs or gut Check, seat belt long enough and latchable check, head not through the roof check, door able to close check. THIS THING FITS LIKE A GLOVEEEE!

A block down the road i was sold. Told the sales guy but her in back pack im taking her home.

Buying a new 2005 XB around $15,500
6 disc cd changer upgrade aruond $500.00
The look on my wifes face when i pulled in the driveway PRICELESS!

Well after a little explaning and my wife checkin out my new toy , she was also very impressed with all the room. She was surprised that I could also sit in the back as well, and belive it or not the back is a little more comfortlabe then the front . This is a first for me!

Now I know all big people are not shaped the same so i do not garuntee every one will fit . But if you have been considering checkin them out I incourage you to do so.

Now I only have one complaint. My Box does lean just a tad and only a tad on the drivers side while in operation. But no fear this will be fixed with a slight modification.

The other day I pulled up at the gas station and got out to pump my gas. This country feller, asked " wat da heck kinda car is dat" ? I said sir this is my new 2005 scion box. He repllied " well tha name sure do fit" And then in his second breath " How the Hell ya fit in that thing " could not help but laughing out loud

So to all you big people that roll SCION XB's Rock on my Friends!

F yea! I my self am big boned, 5'9" and 365 and I am very happy with my lunchbox. I also agree that for the first time ever I have more room in the back seat. . I have noticed peoples reactions when they see me get out and in whit such ease. I have not noticed the "lean" that you talk about but I have cut my springs to drop it .

I always make a point of showing how much room is in the back seat with the front all the way back...Not even my minivan can touch it...

6'3 and 290, everyone was like, you can fit,
then I took four dudes to lunch and they were like, will we be able to get up the hill.
I have the 5 SP with the CAI so I kind of let her putter out, dropped down a gear and gave it all she had. they were laughing their heads off, something about being in the grand prix or something. We get back to the office and I open the trunk and they are like, you could haul all sorts of stuff in here.
Moral of the story, don't judge until you've looked under the hood and checked out the head room!

That back seat is huge, people ask me if I've got enough leg room.

I am 6'1 180, most headroom I have ever had in any car. The leg and headroom in back is ridiculous.

This is the only car I have ever had where I didn't have to drive in a semi-reclined position to keep my hair from touching the ceiling.

6', 240 ... not the biggest guy in the world, but far from the smallest. I love pointing out the room, both in the front, and more specifically in the back.
Just holding my breath til i get some money then decide on the first mods.

i was also impressed by the amount of head and leg room, so i did some reasearch. and the xB has the most headroom (46.1")of any production car right now, beating out even the hummer H1 open top(44.4") and the element (43.4") we win . and it comes in third in leg room with 45.3", with the Mercedes G Wagon and the Lotus Esprit ahead of it.

Brother in law is 6'6" and a bean pole. He was skeptical at first, then sat in the front, then the back.

Next words out of his mouth were, "Honey, can we trade in the 4Runner for this? Please?"

I took a bunch of friends from work out to lunch. One guy
sat in the back seat, looks up at the celing way above him
and said "I feel like a little kid again!"

The back sead does for sure have more room then the front.
One of the guys knees hit the glovebox with the seat all
the way back, so I popped him in the back seat for the ride
home and he very comfortable.

Funny that.

It's not just the amount of room inside (seems almost bigger inside than outside...), but the ease of entry and exit.

Those few folks I've had ride in my xB ALL commented on how easy it was to get in and out of. :D

EDIT: Well, that just gave me the name for my xB: "HyperCube"

It's a fourth-dimension box with more room inside than out...

I'm 6'0 300lbs. The room is one of things that sold me as well. I grew up in the mini-truck era as well and the xB is like the mini-truck I aways wanted back in 1993. A few weeks back my brother and I went to a GMC test drive for their cars and laughed at the lack of leg room and head room that their cars, trucks and suv's had. I felt very proud in my purchase of my xB. I made an excellent choice.

GOD Bless

All these stories remind me of the reason that the headroom in the old-style VW beetles was so good. It was designed during an era when men commonly wore hats!

The xB has similar headroom. That's one of the main reasons I have one.
