Benefit for Shirley and Rob (robbiej) 04.11.10
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f6...oo/Shirley.jpg
Our dear friend, Shirley Jordan, was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma more than a year ago. She has undergone numerous rounds of chemo, but the disease has continued to spread. Doctors at OHSU in Portland will be performing a stem cell/bone marrow transplant on or around the 13th of April. During this time, Shirley and her husband Rob, will have to relocate from their home in Kelso, WA to Portland for 30-45 days of continuous treatment. Shirley has not been able to work for months, and Rob will have to take time off his job to be with Shirley in Portland. Needless to say, this has put a huge strain on their finances, and having to pay for a place to stay in Portland is nearly impossible.
We are planning a spaghetti feed fundraiser on Sunday, April 11th. It will begin at 4:00 pm, and continue as long as we are having fun! There will be all you can eat spaghetti, raffles, prizes, and a Wii bowling tournament, as well as drink specials. We are donating all of the food, so any money given for dinner will go straight to Shirley and Rob.
We will also be selling shots at the bar for the next month, with proceeds going to the Jordans. If you would like to participate, but will not be able to attend, you can paypal a donation to twistedinevertt@comcast.net.
Please help us support our friends, and let them know they are not alone during this extremely difficult time!

Sorry to hear that you lost your job, Pete.
Kelly, I put this on my calendar and hope I will be able to make it up there. Be good to see some folks I haven't seen for way too long, too.
Thanks for setting this up - is there anything ScionLife.com can do to help out? Trinkets to raffle or sell or auction? (Even have some classic ScionLife t-shirts with xAs, xBs and tCs on 'em, along with SL bottle openers and lanyards.) Lemme know.

I'm going to try to make this. Great cause.
Tomas, over on the "other" site, there was a guy that got a sticker (the red heart xB/bB) sale started for a friend with cancer who was dropped by her insurance co. Then EZ (of EZ Baked Customz) started a raffle (currently on hold cause Paypal does not allow raffles, so it has to be on the sly), with prizes donated by us. It was quite successful, and she is now in remission. Anyway, if you want to start a raffle, i'll donate the first prize, a set of my rear hub spacers. Let me know if I can help in any way.

Thank you Tomas! Anything is very helpful! We have some stuff donated by our distributors that we will give away, and I am going to ask the Region if they have anything (not sure how that will go!), but any donation, of any kind, is more than welcome.
If you guys want to run the raffle the way bbszero mentioned, and then just donate the proceeds, that is wonderful too. This is ALL about Rob and Shirley, so it is all good! And every little bit helps, even if it is just good wishes and prayers.
I know times are really tough for many, many people. Victor and I are in that boat too. This is more about sending lots of love and support to them as they take this next step in her treatment. If you are able to give, even a little bit, that is wonderful. If you can't, we understand. Maybe just take a minute and send Rob a note to wish them well. Believe me, it all helps.

i could cut a run of decals for you guys, will just cost you materials.
i would spot it but im umm broke. it costs about 15 dollars a roll unless
you get specialty stock and is 21 inches by 10 yards.. and than the
backing material which i forgot how much it is....anyways it will make
a lot of stickers.
figure out a design, and how many you want and pm me. ill be at home so
all i may be able to help throw one together all i have is time.....lol i may
have some colors to use already. but im thinking you guys will want a
bright color like red or pink but i dont have those.
maybe someone might volunteer to help me weed and back them???
just thinking of ways to help.
just pm me, if your interested in the help.

Sorry, that was just to show you what he did to raise money for his friend. He took the heart from a race car. I think a scion logo with something in the middle, maybe her name or ???

I love the idea of a decal with the heart on it, and maybe something about the PNW Scions and Shirleys name. I personally would be willing to pay for the materials, if somebody (who is much more artistic than I am) would come up with a design. Then we could sell them for $1 or $2 with all the money going to the fund.
Anybody artistic want to take it on??

You read my mind! I love it! Tell me how to get you the money for the materials, and we will do it!
