Default What exhaust has a deep note?

I'm casually considering an axle back for my box, but I'm concerned with getting
a ricer sounding can on the back.

What axle backs are known for a deep note? More of a classic hot rod sound is
what I"m looking for, not a fart can.

Thanks!

ive got a jic magic axle back.. to me i like it, its nice.. but for a 'hot rod' sound. the precision muffler magnaflow axleback is nice, ive heard it on a friend's box and it's clean, deep, and not loud.

the jic is louder w/the silencer out. deep and louuuud. silencer in is nice.

I like your description of the precision muffler.
You have a link for that?

You won't be able to get a classic hot rod sound out of your xb.

Both my Porsches have a deep note; one is a 1.8L the other is a 2.4L, so I know it's
possible.

Thanks Stylis, but I have a manual, and that video....I don't think your video camera
really captured the sound well, especially after that video was compressed so
heavily. I heard more digital artifacts then muffler sound.

I know that the scion will nevere sound like a porsche, but having a deep tone is still possible. :D

You will never get a "hot rod" sound. you can get loud , or you can get low but you wont get hot rod.

OK, I guess to clarify, I'm looking for a low note. Loud isn't
needed.

Just the muffler Hotbox, screw bolt on. The right muffle xl77 strait flow absolutley sounds better than a fricken fart down the road. LR wants deep tone at a good price, Go Magnaflow w/ 2"/2.25 pipes.

Porsche motors are boxer as you know since you own one.

Regardless, there are many many good suggestions people have made in this thread.

Are you looking for quiet deep or loud deep?

i have the stylis's axleback and i couldnt be more pleased with the sound, nice and deep, loud but not obnoxious, with a hint of raspiness(thats not a word...i know). makes the engine sound like its alot bigger than it is lol
