My 2006 xB with 4400 miles went dead. Security light blinking but no interior light and nothing from ignition. Opened hood to check battery and got two honks from the horn. Remote unlock didn't work. UNTIL, I left it standing for a week and then it started right up. It had rained the last day I shut it off. Could splashing water have gotten in somewhere?

 

my tc did this also, i have the dealer security alarm. i have a 1 farad battery capacitor also, i would have thought that would have held up a blinking led. jumped it good since

 

Aha, the capacitor. If a light rain can somehow short out the system until it dries out, what would be the fix to prevent it happening again? Anyone got a clue?
