Question Auto tC- Turbo?

So I have an 2008 scion tC and i was thinking to put a turbo in it. Its an automatic though. Yes auto, I would have gotten a standard but at the time thats all they had and thats all i ever drove.

I just believe that standard vehicles have every right to get a turbo but an automatic is questionable...
I want the speed, I want the performance, I want the turbo, but i dont think its worth it from being a auto and possibly "faking" performance...

Any suggestions?
Do, or do not?

**UPDATE** Sorry wrong forum. idk why its here in the XA forum. Please Transfer to correct forum. thanks.**

In the forced induction section on the tC forums there is a sticky for boosting autos..I would start with that

I'm not sure what you mean by "fake" performance...most of the high powered v8 drag cars are autos.

I would start here: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...utomatic+turbo

I have an auto as well and even tho many MANY people have told me turboing an auto is a waste of time since you won't get nearly as much WHP as a manual, I'm still going the turbo route this summer. (PTuning FTW). Just remember don't go the cheap route with any parts, you'll end up spending way more $$ in the long run. I don't plan on racing anyone, I'm mainly doing it for the thrill while driving it... and of course the PSSSHHH sound. Heh.

Wrong section and the lack of search is amazing in this thread.

Short: Use a good kit (Dezod is the best bang for your buck) get a trans oil cooler and don't push it past 8 psi for a safe build.

Personal xp: I have a boosted auto that has seen 18 and pushed to 20 psi and the trans is still kicking. I blew the motor before the trans had issues. I have an IPT valve body and a cheap trans cooler.

Autos win races, Manual just impress the high school kiddies. All major race vehicles and drag cars use automatics

Thanks everyone, I know wrong section. idk how it happened. im new to this forum and this is the weirdest forum format layout ever. Also I just wanted to get a few direct answers.

What i ment by "fake" is playing the "poser" card, you know. but yeah drag racers do have auto so thats FTW so far.

Im not going to go over 120MPH LOL but only at my drag race night at the speedway.
Im going to Dezod since they live right down the road from me. WIN!

So i guess i just might get the turbo. Yes no cheap parts here, ive herd plenty of stories where others use cheap ____. No Go.

tCvirus- cute. mmmMMPshhhh sound LMAO! i like that too haha.

WEll i guess i gotta do some research to get the turbo, installation, wiring, routing, Metering, Testing, ....damn...Im already getting a headache...

Just make sure to put a trans cooler on, the fluid getting too hot is the main cause of failure for autos :D

They are around $30-50, pretty cheap for peace of mind.

Call Paul, as far as I know they include a trans cooler in their auto friendly kit. Basically a 1 hitter quitter all you need minus exhaust and gauges. Keep it at 8 psi and hit around 250whp
