Pretty sure it will be quite a bit different due to the different engine placement. The tCs engine is quite a bit closer to the firewall I believe, which also changes it relative position to the wheel well.

XB AEM CAI WHP gain: 3.13
TC AEM CAI WHP gain: 5-5.5 (so i've been told)

The only real difference is placement. Other than that, the two systems should be fairly identical. Hope this info helps!

I got a reply from a guy in R&D on the AEM forum about their Cool Air System for the TC. He stated that it is waiting for CARB approval.

However, the K&N is CARB exempt because its for "off road use". Therefore, the K&N will probably have more ability to produce horsepower than the AEM when it is finally released.

Actually, its not exempt. They have to add that phrase b/c it has no exemption. K&N most likely will seek exemption (they have in the past, approval just seems to take a while). Until they get it, if they want to sell the intake, they add that phrase "off-road" use only.
CARB approval = CARB EO = CARB exemption order. What you are getting approved for is an exemption from the CARB law against modifying any part of a stock intake. AEM is most likely waiting to release the aftermarket version of the intake (if it goes to production) for other reasons (like agreements with toyota).
