Default Insurance Rates?

What do most of you pay monthly for insurance on the xB and what companies are you with? I REALLY want to get the xB and I can afford the monthly car payments just fine but it looks like my car insurance is going to go up too much for me to be able to afford it

I'm under my parents policy, but listed as the only driver - Full coverage, 19 years old, no accident or tickets, driver training discount from back in 9th grade, and a good student discount for my grades in college, $1000 deductables on everything - I pay 120 a month.

USAA - you have to have to currently be in or retired from the military to get into USAA. Military dependants are also eligible for inclusion - I've also financed my car through them. Good rates if you can qualify.

You'd really be doing yourself a favor by making some phone calls. Any info culled from this chat room would be purely anecdotal in that your rates will vary based on:

amounts of coverage -- liability, uninsured motorists, collision, deductibles
zip code you live in
driving record
how many cars you own
how many people will be driving the car (significant other?)
your age
distance you drive to/fro school/work
$$$ amount of aftermarket parts on car -- assuming you want them covered too
etc.

A phone call is cheap, but the info you gather from it is priceless.

Well, I'm paying around $180 a month (full coverage, no tkts or accidents, but under 25yrs old) for a 98 4Runner SR5 right now. I went by my agent's office yesterday in a blue xB and asked what would my rates change to when my RS 1 shows up. Turns out based on the sticker price my insurance will actually drop $10 a month.

I'm paying about $1200 a year for an 04 xB and an 02 Mazda Protege5. It's through GEICO and not too bad.

$421 for a full year with Amica.

$250otc / 500 collision deductible. All rest minimums.
Over 25 years of age.
No tickets or accidents
Driver Improvement discount.
Second car discount.

Basically, I was paying $600 a year for my other car and they added the xB for a low $288/year.

xB is in the wagon category so teenager insurance rates will be lower than most all other cars.

I went from driving a 94 nissan altima with liability only which was close to nothing every month, with the xB on the policy I'll be paying an extra 120 or so a month for full collision/glass/etc. with 750 dollar deductibles but we have other cars on the policy so I think that helps, and I've got speeding tickets galore already and have been an assigned risk since I was 17 when I got into a little fender bender. oh yeah its with GEICO so ya know.

That's pretty high. You should be able to get less than that. I'm only paying $300ish for the xB and I'm under 25 and have a clean driving record. That's for full coverage with a $500 deductable.
