Question Stock wheels - lug nuts, wheel scratches...

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this on their 2011 tC: I had my tires rotated the first time at the dealership a couple of months ago, and just noticed when checking/adjusting tire pressure at the gas station that some of the chrome lug nuts seem to have dings on the front surfaces, and it looks like whatever pneumatic wrench they used to remove/replace the lug nuts may have made some circular scratches (minor) in the deep wells where the nuts go into these wheels.

Am I just being ****, or have other folks noticed this also? Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

Use stock lugnuts when you have to take it in for service since you know they aren't going to be gentle. Use Gorilla or whatever security lugnuts for daily usage when you bring the car back from service.

I also prefer to have aftermarket wheels over the girly stock style. Therefore I'd keep the stock wheels in the garage and only use them if I had to bring the car in for service which required the techs to take the wheels off for whatever purpose. I could care less how much they scratched the stock wheels since I'd put the aftermarket wheels back on once I come home.

oblivionlord- wouldnt that defeat the purpose of rotating and balancing the rims if you dont even use them after they service the car?..

yes, yes it would.., but the peace of mind of knowing that they aren't man handling my set of rims (of which are not cheap) with the impact wrench is worth it. you can always do the rotation yourself, it's the price we pay for being modders...
