Default Over-Revved....?????

In a post below, The poster says that aour warranty can be voided if the xB is "overrevved". How is this possible with a rev-limiter?...Am I missing something?

If a driver over-revved consistently near the limit, I'm sure there would be telltale signs of engine wear in places.

Maybe that's what it means?

well like i said...the rev limiter only works so well. if you sit there and rev it, you will notice that the revs will bounce, that is due to the limiter. BUT, you can manually override that limiter if...lets say you are going 70 in 5th, and you decide to downshift to 4th...but accidentally you put it into 2nd. there is no way that rev limiter is going to keep you from shifting into it, therefore, you still manage to over rev the engine.
